Any of you had a surprise 30th birthday? Planned your own? Didn't have a party?
I kinda want a surprise party, but then again, I want to plan something in the city.
What are your opinions?

DH is turning 30 in Jan and I will be surprising him. I want a surprise party for my 25th bday! DH and I are at the same level of when its the appropriate time to do things. You can always plan something small and hope your DH surprises you.

i didn't want a party but wanted to do something. DH and my friend planned a dinner for me at Buddakan - not a surprise, I helped but she arranged it and he paid. I had my really close friends and my sisters and their husbands. there were like 22 of us at the communal table. Everyone loved the food and the atmosphere; just getting all my sisters and BILs to come into the city (they are old boring married people with kids ) was awesome.
best birthday I could have asked for.

DH says he does not want a party for his 30th.. but I know he would like it.. so I thinking of something at home with his family and then go out that night with a few of his friends..
