TGIF ladies!!!! Have a great weekend!!

So the question for today is:

1. What was your first thought when you just got engaged?

2. What was the first thing you did when you got engaged?

For me:

1. My first thought was OMG, I am really going to marry the man of my dreams. I literally couldn't stop shaking.

2. We were in Paris on our 3 year anniversary when we got engaged. He proposed in a park. We went out to eat and went back to the hotel and started writing out our guest list. Yes, I know, we couldn't wait.

Edited to add: As soon as he proposed, we sat in the park and I couldn't stop shaking. Then after like 10 minutes, I was like, Ok, I really have to talk to someone, so we ran to find a pay phone so I could call my best friend.

My first thought was that I was in shock. I had no idea a proposal was coming and I felt really blessed.

The first thing I did right after FH proposed was that I started calling people right in the restaurant. I called my mother first and then My best friend.

1) first thing = stare at FH for like 30seconds w/my mouth open not realizing what was happening before i said YES!!!! LOL (poor FH), i was thinking OMG thats it! IM GETTING MARRIED!!!

2) first thing i did AFTER was literally jump up and down in the middle of the christmas tree farm....and then i called Mommy!!!!

(then me, FH, FMIL and my parents all had dinner together!)

I was in denial...I thought it was a joke. I never had thoughts abt being married and never wanted to get married. (we had actually just told our families we were engaged as an April fools joke and he asked me April 17)

One I realized Fh was serious we called my Parents (they werent suprised since we did the april fools bit). My dad ask FH if he was 'sure' and he also told him he didnt have to marry me . We also sent FH mom a text and she called us...she was super excited. A few hours later it hit me and I went into planning mode...the next day we stated looking at RH ect

FH proposed on my birthday so my mind wasn't catching up when I saw him on his knee with the ring. LOL! The first thought I had (and the first words out of my mouth) were 'Are you sh!tting me?!' The first thing I did was get the ring sized. It was huge. I mean massive. And I have really tiny fingers. And also called a million people while I was waiting for the ring to be sized, though everyone already knew! I actually got a text before he proposed but didn't read it until afterwards (Luckily!!) because it said 'CONGRATS!!'

2. First thing I did, after I called my mom, I was skipping down the streets of Manhattan w/ FH (he wasn't skipping).

My first thought was omg this is really happening then it was followed up with I hope hes not kidding.
The first thing we did after we got engaged because we got engaged in the magic kingdom in disney we went with our photographer and started taking pics but before that I called my mom.

1. I knew it was happening that weekend so I was just so excited that it ACTUALLY finally DID happen and it could be real and not just a dream.

2. I cried. We hugged. We kissed. We finished our lunch. Then we hopped into bed. (Please tell me I'm not the only one!!)

1. i had NO CLUE it was happening, i turned around and saw him on his knee in the horse and carriage i said what the f are you doing?lol then he started saying all these nice things...then i saw the BOX, and starting screaming SHUT UP, NO WAY! lol Then i cried and cried and said yes finally...

2. called my parents and texted all my girls then went to his parents house, then went for drinks with my parents an all of our friends, i was shaking the entire day!

i guess my first thought was :omg we are engaged i have a ring ?!?!?! it finally happened

we couldn't stop holding each other and went for dinner. after that we went to spread the good news, families 1st!

1. My first thought was I can't believe this is it, the moment I have been waiting for. You think of getting engaged as like one of the biggest moments in your life!
2. We got engaged on the beach, so I was on the phone calling EVERYONE in my family but they all already knew and were waiting for me at my mothers house with champagne :) I have never been happier!

FH proposed on a Dinner Cruise around lower Manhattan

My first thought was 'OMG he just dropped the ring and we cant find it'
2nd thought was thank God he didnt do it on the outside deck- the ring would have gone overboard

I then called my Best Friend to tell her

2. the first thing we did was go next door to my sisters house where they were waiting for us (everyone knew we were getting engaged that day) and within minutes our house was full of our family and friends!!

1. We got engaged on April Fools day so my first thought was - is this an April fools day joke?
2. I called everyone I knew - half of them knew already and the other half kept saying 'yeah right April fools!' lol

first thing i did after we got out of the horse and carriage (we were in one of those things going around central park) was call my mom and his mom... who were both expecting our calls of course!

2. First thing I did was give FH a huge hug and said YES YES YES! Then we started making the phone calls, family first then bridal party then everyone else! :)
