4 months and still.. SICK!

So i had the flu in december and since then have not been able to get rid of this sinus thing.. so i let it go till about 3 weeks ago.. i finally couldnt take it anymore so i went to the doc. and he said it was a sinus infection and that he was going to give me 21 DAYS of ANTIBIOTIC So i take 15 days worth.. and then i come down with something even worse... i couldnt beleive it! so i called the doc. back and unfortunately couldnt get in untill tonight so now i have taken the full 21 days and still not feeling better.. my ears hurt so bad i can hear this constant HUMMING all the time and everytime i blow my nose i nearly fall off my chair from the vertigo. . So i go tonight to see what the Heck is going on and he said that it looks worse and now i have an ear infection. So im not on another 10 days of a new antibiotic and STERIODS Im so nervous to take steriods.. i havent been sick like this since i was Little so im really scared to take them! say a little hail mary for me that this goes away im so sick of being Sick!

oh nooooo...I am so sorry...being sick is the worst...I have been sick for a few weeks now...getting better, but not 100% still...horrible winter...I hope you get well soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG - one of my poor BMs is in the same boat. Poor thing.

I hate to butt in but you should really try a neti pot. I swear by it. I suffer from pretty bad sinus headaches, the first sign of one I'm sticking water up my nose and the headache is gone.
A family friends daugther was going to have the tubes put in her ears as was advised by a prominent ent doc when another doctor suggested a neti pot. Well the little girl didn't need the surgery.
I figure anything that has been used for 2000 years has to be effective.

i suffer also from sinus infections and they are not fun. i was wondering where can i purchase a neti pot?

They sell them at CVS now but I bought mine at a health food store. It's a little plastic pot that looks like a cross between a genie lamp and tea pot. It's great b/c you can put it in the dishwasher.
Also make sure to buy the salt they sell for the neti pot. I can pretty much promise that it will make you feel better without terrible side effects.
Make sure you read the directions on how far to tilt your head so the water doesn't go down your throat.
It also does wonders for clearing ear infections too believe it or not. I guess all your sinus' are connected making it a great solution for all infections.

OMG! I had the same thing! I got the flu in February... now I have this rediculous sinus thing!!! I dont want to go to the doctor and get meds!!! Is their anyway it just goes away? Hope things get better for you!!

OMG I am so sorry to hear that I know whatever has been going around is bad, turning into sinus infections, bronchitis and pneumonia. I really hope they get you feeling better soon!

Is the steroid called Prednizone?? If so, you will be FINE taking it... it's quite common and if we're being honest, Cooper (my dog) is on a lifetime perscription of it for his stomach! (dog meds are usually exactly the same as human meds).
