THiS iS ALL i CAN THiNK OF FOR RiGHT NOW..

EVERYONE HAS ATLEAST ONE ENEMY iN THEiR LiFE...SOMEONE WHO DOESN'T LiKE THEM, SOMEONE WHO iS JEALOUS OF THEM, OR WHATEVER....AN EX-FRiEND, A FAMiLY MEMBER, OR FH'S CRAZYY EX-GiRLFRiEND.

HOW DiD THiS PERSON REACT TO YOUR ENGAGEMENT? AND DiD YOU DO ANYTHiNG TO MAKE SURE THEY KNEW YOU WERE ENGAGED??


person number 1 is my cousin -- heather -- i dont even know if she is my real cousin or not.. she randomly came into my family when she was 16, but shes a loser. she has a ****** job, switched majors in school about a million times, now i dont even think she is going to school. her boyfriend is a loser & no one likes him. shes always been a little jealous b/c my pap always talks about me, everyone loves my FH, and im almost finished with college.

when i got engaged...i posted it all over myspace & facebook -- then i saw her on christmas, and made sure i showed her my ring..

how did she react?? -- grabbed my hand, threw it down, and said 'hm nice' and stomped away...then within the next 2 days, she had a wedding date even though she wasnt even engaged..

person number 2 - a girl i used to work with. She has never really been truly happy with her fiance..i dont know why she stuck around...she got pregnant, they got married 5 months into the pregnancy and she has been unable ever since. she has always given me sh!t about staying with my FH b/c we broke up a few times in the past & i called her when i got engaged... her reaction? -- wow, he is actually ready to settle down?

I really don't have any Enemies... there are a few old friends I don't talk to anymore for various reasons and honeslty when they found out... either through word of mouth or Facebook... they all got in contact with me to Congratulate FI and I.

I can gladly say I didn't have a negative response from anyone

i have no idea how they acted to my engagement???

that would be intresting to find out tho....

ETA:i wouldnt say enemies...i dont think i have ever had those...perhaps just the people im not such a fan of OR who are not such a fan of me...

Hmmmmmm......I really don't have any enemies....anymore that is.

I had one in HS, but haven't seen her since. And it was all because of my ex-BF. So she probably doesn't even know now that I'm engaged, nor would she care.

I guess maybe my aunt (through marriage). The woman is evil. But, when she got the invite to my e-party, she called and congratulated us but couldn't make it to the e-party. We'll see if she comes to the wedding.

yeah.. no enemies here either. Just had that stupid comment from my ex that i mentioned a few times on here.

other then that only good wishes and congrats.

I don't really have any enemies and the only one I have is from HS and I honestly couldn't care less and I havent talked to her or heard of her in like 10 yrs.

My ex (we dated for 5 yrs before FH and I started dating) and I had a real rough breakup, and when his friends found out they either called or emailed me to congratulate me. As for the ex - I know he knows but haven't heard a peep from him (not that I was expecting to or that I am concerned about it at all). Oh well - I just hope he finds happiness in whatever he ends up doing....

I don't really have enemies anymore-got rid of them all and don't care about them anymore.

But I do have a enemy co-worker who works in the same area as me and since i've gotten engaged and then another co-worker in our area got engaged, the enemy co-worker has tried to be in competition with both of us. Example enemy has been living with her boyfriend for over a year now (he is divorced and has 4 kids, never wants to remarry) all of a sudden she is saying that they are going to get engaged , I close on my house then other engaged co-worker is house hunting and finds a house, enemy co-worker is house hunting a puts an offer in on a house and then all of a sudden something happens (she couldn't actually afford it, but is too embarassed to admit it, i hear all of her phone convos)

My immature ex boyfriend defriended me from Facebook once I posted that I was engaged...

...funny thing is that he's got a live-in girlfriend. You think he'd be over me by now, no?

I know some ex-men have seen via Facebook, but haven't heard from them. One of them changed his facebook status around the time I posted the news to something really rude, and I felt it was directed at me, but I can't be sure. I love the attention and all the negative wishes from haters!

i wouldnt say enemies, i know there are some people that arent exactly my best friend though lol

either way i have no idea how they reacted cuz i sure as hell didnt care enough to tell them myself lolllll

there is one girl who i am completely not a fan of. not really an enemy. i just want no part in her.

she is not my friend on f-book or anything. so she probably heard it through word of mouth. but not be me. so i have no idea how she reacted. probably surprised...and i only say that cuz in HS she had a LTR with someone who she was planning on marrying and they broked it off. and i was single throughout HS.

and now im getting married n she is single. o well. life is funny i guess.

I guess I could say no enemies anymore but there are some people who I know are very immature and wouldnt even say hi if they saw me because its happened but anyway I dont care about them...there is 1 girl though who I would just love to stick it in her face because she truly has been jealous of me forever, been a backstabing biatch forever and even called my fh a few times when we first started dating (long story) I would love to stick my engagement in her face but on the other hand I dont want any negativity surrounding me and FH about us getting married. She might already know though through friends of friends...honestly, I hope she choked on it!

2. To answer the question, as far as I know there are no enemies or anyone that really had a negative reaction to the engagement!

I have a cousin who I didn't really talk to much after my mom had some issues with my aunt and uncle. Our parents have gotten over all the drama but I just could never forget how my uncle was being such a jerk. So I just drifted apart from her over the years.

When FH was going to propose, my mom knew and she told the entire family when everyone went over to my cousins' house in PA. So when my cousin heard, she was super excited for me.

She sent me an email telling me how she would have liked to congratulate me in person and that she is very happy for me and FH.

I saw her on her bday, she came down to NY and she's been very friendly with me. So all is forgotten and now we're trying to get back to where we were before our parents had all their drama.

So now, my only real 'enemies' are those brides that I know who were stupid with me when they found I got engaged before they did.

One chick FH knows was not very happy about us getting engaged but as soon as she got engaged the whole world was supposed to be happy for her.

There is one guy from college who i was friends with but we got into a huge fight and havent spoken in years! My friend ran into him and told him I was engaged and he almost passed out. And then started on and on about how i am a B****.

There is one from from highschool who I recently lost touch with. I would always call her and one day she stopped returning my calls. Long story short -- I was really upset about the whole thing---So a month or two before i got engaged i decided to give up. I know that she has found out I am engaged and she hasnt said anything to me. Other people from HS that I dont speak to anymore (are still BFF with her) found out and I received so many facebook wall posts! She had always been kind of jealous growing up. If I run into her I want to shove my ROCK in her face.
