Ok so I decided to have a friday night wedding to save some money and the latest I could have the ceremony there was at 4:30pm is that really an issue. Some people say no Its not bad because people could take a half day or a day off its just one day and I am giving them over a year notice... I am really stressing over this.

My wedding is Friday at 4:30, I know it stinks and all for some people but what can you do....I am trying not to think about it. I know most people will take the day off.

Ok good thank you it is a bit comforting to know someone else is going through this too. I feel like if I give enough time for people to plan it shouldnt really be an issue. Thanks again!

I'm having my ceremony at 3:30 on a Friday. I know not everyone will make it to the church, but that doesn't really bother me. The people who are important will be able to take the day or half day off. I don't expect my coworkers to be able to make it, but I doubt they would come to the ceremony if it was a Saturday afternoon either.

No you aren't alone. I stressed it in the beginning and than I was like whatever, my sister got married on a Friday same time years ago and her church was still crowded and no one complained.

Heh you know what, I was going to say it is bad ... but then I thought about my own wedding. We're doing it Saturday evening, specifically because I wanted people not to have to take off work and have time to get ready and then rest after. And after 70+ no responses I realized that whoever was going to make it, will make it regardless of time and date. And the @holes that don't think your wedding is important enough to attend will come up with some fabulous excuse not to attend. So don't even stress about it.

its a little early, but people will deal with it. You may have some late commers, but Im sure most people will work it out!

Mine is at 4:30 on a Friday too... but I'm sending Save the Date's somewhat early jsut to give people advance notice, so hopefully whoever REALLY wants to be there will be able to make it!

Our wedding was on a Friday at 3pm. Everyone that wanted to be there took off. Our church was actually packed. They had some time to go back to the hotel or to DH's dad in between to relax, then went to the reception at 7.

my wedding was 3pm on a Friday...i made it earlier so people could avoid Hamptons traffic....no one complained & those who wanted to be there were! Don't stress!

ours is also a fri but ceremony starts a little later - at 6pm
i think its fine - people who want to be will take a half day or take off - i dont expect everyone to make it to my ceremony but i expect a pretty big turn out - lots of people get married on fridays now - dont sweat it

Not everyone will be able to make it to the ceremony... but thats typical not to have everyone at the ceremony unless its at the RH. So its fine. I wouldn't worry.

I don't think it's bad- the people that are important to you will make sure to be there! Especially if you are sending STD's then people can take a half day in advance and it shouldn't be a huge issue for them.

i just changed my wedding date to a thursday evening so don't feel bad. I never imagined getting married on a thursday but I feel as long as u give people advanced notices, they can make accomadations. In this day and age, a lot of people don't even have standard mon-fri 9-5 jobs. Not only that, but if people really love and care for u and want to be there on your big day, they will find a way to do so!

It is fine. But you have to understand some people can't come to the ceremony because of work. Not everyone will take off.

It is hard for people who have to work but if they have to work then they just come alittle late. Those people who are truely important to you will get there on time so it doesnt matter :)
