Our wedding was on a Friday and the church started at 4:30 as well

As the another poster said...Anyone who wants to be there will be there....My church was packed and I was grateful of those who came...

Don't worry it will be fine, happy planning.

That's absolutely fine. Mine was on a Friday at 3pm.

Not only are you giving people plenty of notice, but it's a good excuse for people to take off early on a Friday and start the weekend early.

Don't be too worried about what people have to do because you won't be able to accomodate everyone and make everyone happy.

I'm Friday at 3:30 or 4 I'm not sure yet.. But again those who want to will be there!

Did you all put the time on your STD?? I didn't- just the date.

My daughters church ceremony was at 2 pm on a Friday and it was fine. The important people who wanted to be there were there. Her boss even closed the office so everyone could be there! Just enjoy your day and don't worry about little things like that. It'll be fine.

I think no matter how much time you give people beforehand to make arrangements to be there, they are still going to complain. The people who want to be there, will make the effort to be there....just keep remembering that!

if people really want to go they will make it, me presonally it would be an inconvience because i would have no one to pick up my daughter from school since FH works, so you might get people with issues like that.....and it isnt that easy for people to take off from work, even with notice, some jobs dont even offer sick or personal days.

It is fine. But you have to understand some people can't come to the ceremony because of work. Not everyone will take off.

I completely agree. The most important people will be there no matter what, although you'll probably have a lot of people skip the ceremony because of work. As long as you're OK with that, then a Fri night wedding is not 'really bad' at all!

I'm hoping and expecting that most of our guests will attend our ceremony because we're getting married at our hall -- this was something very important to me, but it may not be as important to you.

I'm having my ceremony at 3:30 on a Friday. I know not everyone will make it to the church, but that doesn't really bother me. The people who are important will be able to take the day or half day off. I don't expect my coworkers to be able to make it, but I doubt they would come to the ceremony if it was a Saturday afternoon either.

same here my church is at 3:30 and everyone who matters will be there

The people that want to be there will be. They will leave early from work, take the day off, whatever it is that they have to do.
Im getting married on a thursday night in the summer, I have no worries cause the ones that loves us will make it there.

Go into it knowing there won't be a lot of people at the church, except for the close friends and family and if others show, then it is a plus. People will come to the reception, probably not the church.

I had my Friday ceremony at 3:30 and my church was packed. Sure, not everybody was able to get out of work for it, but the people who really matter came to the church and I was suprised by how full it was.

I am getting married at 3:30pm on a Friday with our reception starting at 7:30pm. There is nothing wrong with it. You have to do what is best for your budget. Your guests will handle their schedules accordingly.

Don't stress about this at all - Friday is a very popular wedding day!!

I'm getting married at 11:30 on a Saturday morning and I think some people will still have a problem making it to the church. You can't please everyone and the PP's said, the people who matter the most will make it their business to be there.

My wedding is at 4 on a Friday...like everyone else said...if they're important they'll be there!! I was a little nervous at first too, but it'll work out!!

It's fine! I'm going to one in September, same time. Not everyone comes to the ceremony in any event, and those who can make it, will! People with enough notice can leave early, and everyone likes to leave early on Friday!
