5'11''Bride please Help

5'11''Bride please Help

I have a dilema. My FH is slightly shorter than me, as seen in our pics, unless I have really flat shoes on. Then there is an illusion of height equality. Anyway I was told at the bridal store to wear a lil heel to lift up my dress a little. However my FH feels as if I am towering over him. I have looked and looked and I cant not find flat formal shoes. It seems as if all Formal shoes have some sort of heel. I was thinking that maybe I'll wear a heel for my solo pictures and ballet slippers for my pic with my FH. Ive accepted the fact a long time ago that I tower over most people so I have no problem in Heels. Please what should I do? Does anyone have any suggestion? Any links or pics of flat formal shoes?

I'm lucky because i'm 5'11' but my FH is SOOOO tall so it doesn't even matter with us...

I am going to wear white flip flops (even potentially to the ceremony).... they're probably the most flat you will get next to ballet slippers but not that 'formal'... just a suggestion!!

I CAN'T BELIEVE ALL THESE GIRLS THAT ARE ALSO 5'11'! Where are you tall girls in my daily life??

I would say, if your dress is to the floor, wear pretty ballet slippers. No one will know and you'll be so comfy!

As far as giving your dress a lift- try on a little heel in the store when you try your dress on- See how much of a difference it makes in the look of the dress. It's prolly not much a diff- not worth sacrificing comfort anyway

If you tall girls are going to WOTY, come sit by me! And wear those heels!

Thanks Ladies! DanNette I really like those. My dress is detailed so I needed plain shoes to avoid the busy look. I really like!

no man heels for him! He's wearing his dress blue uniform. I was just on someone's page and I can't seem to remember for the life of me who it was. anyway They had cute converses as a wedding day shoe. I had that idea for a while but then my mom would never let me hear the end of it.

Go for the shoes that DanNette recommended! They are fabulous.
If the dress shop wants you to wear heels for the 'lift,' tell them to shorten your dress to accommotate the shoes..........bring the shoes to your fitting.
ANother option....'squat heels'

I second the zappos idea.... Also, you can go to large dept stores and look for ivory or white flats. If you want to look dressier, maybe see if you can find ones with pointier toes? I love those satin shoes from zappos, though!

I agree...White flip flops. Your dress will be covering it anyway!

I def would go with ballet slippers, I'm 5'8'but FH is almost 7' so it doesn't matter, but I can't wear heels (bad knees)
How is wearing a heel going to make that much difference in your dress? Thats the point of the hem. Try it on in the store with a small heel and then flats and see if it really makes a lot of difference.
