5'11''Bride please Help

I have a dilema. My FH is slightly shorter than me, as seen in our pics, unless I have really flat shoes on. Then there is an illusion of height equality. Anyway I was told at the bridal store to wear a lil heel to lift up my dress a little. However my FH feels as if I am towering over him. I have looked and looked and I cant not find flat formal shoes. It seems as if all Formal shoes have some sort of heel. I was thinking that maybe I'll wear a heel for my solo pictures and ballet slippers for my pic with my FH. Ive accepted the fact a long time ago that I tower over most people so I have no problem in Heels. Please what should I do? Does anyone have any suggestion? Any links or pics of flat formal shoes?

You ladies are right, I dont see how a heel would make a difference, especially since its a special order and not an off the rack dress. The whole process of getting the dress was a lil overwhelming. Now that I think about it the consultant made no sense. How come we tall gals are never in the same place at once? lol

I am 5'11 and fh is maybe half an inch taller then me. I was told to get 1.25'-1.50' heels so the dress won't need to be hemmed. When my fh has on his shoes we should be about the same height. I have 3 diff shoes from shoebuy.com in my album if you want to take a look. I ended up getting the ginger shoes. I ordered 4 pairs and just returned the ones i didn't want. I got 10% off for first time buyer and found a coupon online for 15%off and they have free shipping both ways. good luck.

I'm 5'11 as well, and went with an inch and 1/4 heel. Darren is only 5'8 at best!!! For the rest of the day, pictures etc, you bet your a$$ I'm wearing slippers!! I literly tower over him. But hey we're lucky. Our men like to climb

HA! I am thinking the same thing about myself just reading this!

Sweetie you have an entire FOOT on me. I'm only 4'11' but have similar shoe problems. I need 4 inch heels when I stand next to FH just so I don't look like his child. It's going be difficult walking around all day in those heels.

But to answer your question I know a bride that wore BEAUTIFUL, authentic ballet slippers. They were white satin and laced up her calf. It was really unique and elegant.

lol.lol. I can relate but on the flip side.... lol... My FH looks about 8 years younger than he really is and the fact that I am taller than him makes me look like his mama..... hehe lol
But you know what?! They love us anyway! hehe

I am also on the search for flats for the wedding, not because of a height thing but because I have trouble with my knees so I can't really wear heels ... ever!

ouch! I hope you find a comfortable pair!!! I give you credit, I could never survive that.... I'd be crawling off of the dancefloor.....

Werock0709- I was so excited to see another 5'11' girl, I clicked on your profile, and guess what?! Lance and I live next door to lazy cow! Lance hangs out with Darren and the guys all the time! There's nothing better than being able to buy my milk as I walk from my car to my front door

Also very excited to 'meet' so many more tall girls, I'm telling you I never see anyone as tall as me in my daily life! Where are we all hiding?? heehee

I am about 5'11' and I thought I was tall until I went to college. Once there I met one of my best friends and she is 6'4' We hit it off right away since we were the tallest girls there. I still enjoy going out with her esp since I can wear heels and not look like the jolly green giant

I am 5'9 and wore these at my first wedding. They worked great! You should be able to find flats at any bridal shoe store, I found some at Kenneth Cole also.

That's awesome I have a good friend who is 6'1' and I'm obsessed with her! lol! She lives in NC now, but we LOVE when we get to hang out b/c we can wear the highest heels and not get a back ache from bending down to talk to each other haha
