What is the longest you and your FI have ever spent apart?
I know we have a few brides on here who have long distance relationship and thought maybe if we all shared and also mentioned some ways that helped us get through it, it could help everyone!
The longest for us was when I went to Italy for a month buttt we weren't officially dating yet so it prob doesnt exactly count. It still was hard though especially with us both feeling unsure as to where we would be when I got back. Besides that I'd say about 2 weeks. I know it's not much to those who have to wait months but it still wasn't easy. Plus he lives in LI and I'm in SI so it can get a little frustrating when we have serious stuff to discuss and don't want to do it over the phone, I can't just drive around the block to see him. However, no real complaints here, I know some brides on here wish they could get to their FH's by car instead of boat or plane, so hang in there!!
Oh and what helps me get through is (may sound weird but..) I pretend he is there cuddling with me at night and lots of phone calls and texts of course! Okay answer away!

The longest is 1 week. I was in Mexico with my mom for 2 weeks and for week 1 he wasn't with us and met us down a week later.

7 weeks. FH works on oil tankers for a living, so he goes to work for usually about a month at a time, then he is home for a month. One time last year he ended up working 7 weeks straight. That was rough...and I have a feeling he will have to do it again at the end of the summer

i think the longest was two and a half, three weeks...although i have to say the last two years of our relationship have been more of us apart than together bc of grad school. but its nothing like the long distance relationships some you ladies have! lotS of phone calls, texts and emails have helped us through.

About a month. FH and I met about 8 months before I started college. Then I went away to college in Boston, and he stayed home here in NY.
I used to come home about once a month for a weekend, but we've definitely gone at least a month without seeing each other. And we did this for 4 years
It definitely s*cked, but I think it made our relationship so much stronger.

Considering the majority of my 6 1/2 year relationship with FH has been long distance this is a good one for me. Even though I spent 3 1/2 years at Syracuse an he was in the city, and then by the time i gradated, he moved back to long island and I moved to the city. The longest- definately had to me when I was studying for a semester in Florence.
He is a CPA and couldnt come to visit me because of stupid tax season and i couldnt go home obviously to visit him. My phone bills were crazy-expensive while i was there for four months. He bought me a talking picture frame right before i left and recorded 2 messages (so cheesey I know!) and one of them say 'So how was your day, what did you do?' and it helped me. It was a long 4 months.
Oddly, this past weekend, FH went away for 5 days to go golfing with his brother and dad. I could not function without him while he was gone. Its funny that now we live together i do not know what to do without him, except for 5 years I was so independent and used to him not being around.

Probably about 3 weeks or so, we went to different colleges and couldn't see each other every weekend. We did live close enough that we could drive (it was about an hour and a half away) but our schedules at the time did not allow for us to see each other every weekend. Now, if I go more than a day without him, I miss him!

probably about a week....either one of us went on vacation or usually during finals, we never saw each other.

Hmm.... bit of a trick question for me...
Physically a week. I vacationed to Disney and Vegas the first summer we were together so he didn't come. Then another week when I went to Vegas again, and no boys allowed....
Apart though has a little different meaning for me. When FH got in his car accident he was in a coma for 10 days, and in the hospital for 2 months. For about 5 or6 weeks of those 2 months he couldn't really communicate and wasn't really 'there' .....so it felt like we were apart even though I was by his side everyday.
Good question though... kinda brought a tear to my eye which hasn't happend over this situation in a really long time...

We were apart for one month while he was working for his company in Miami.
My parents live on the west coast of Florida and I was already scheduled to see them that same month, so he did drive to my parents' house the weekend I was there so he could meet them for the first time. Awww!!!
So it wasn't a FULL month because of that weekend, but it was still really hard.
Other than that, he was gone for two weeks for a family trip to Bangladesh a couple of years ago...that was hard because of the time difference. We weren't able to talk but we were able to e-mail.

like 2 months when I went to Greece like 6 months after we met, it was HELL, i mean i did miss him but we fought like CRAZZZZZZYYYYY over the phone it drove me nuts!

i guess i am very lucky. the longest FH & I where ever apart was for 10 days when I went to Maine with my parents. This was years ago & he couldn't come with us because he had work. more recently i go to my parents house upstate, NY for a couple of days (4 or 5 max) without FH. & once a year FH goes on a long weekend trip with his friends (5 days).
i think this time apart helps us to grow closer. we always know that when we get home the other will be there to greet us with a smile & a clean house.
