I am tutoring my little neice who is in the 5th grade. She has a summer reading list of 3 books and needs to write a book report for each one. what is the best order for a book report? I havent written one in years and I cant exactly teach her how to write College Style either!!!

They didn't give her a set format? I am a Literacy Coach in my school and I know my teachers each have a different format. If there is not I would do a simple summary for each book highlight the characters, setting, plot, problem and solution. You may also have her so a little mini review of the book. I know a lot of kids come up with interesting opinions for that part :) I am not sure of the genre of each book but if there is non-fiction you can show her how a report needs to be handled differently for different genres.
