OMG, me too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm 11/23/05 too!!!
Hey, date twin - do you find that alot of your guests won't be able to make it since it's the day before a Holiday or that they're excited because they're already off? I've gotten very mixed reviews...

Hey!!!! I just ran into the office of one of the divisions of the company that I work for and said, 'Everyone look at the date' and they all said, '23rd' and we all starting yelling and getting excited... we're so dorky! hahaha!!! So exciting!!! As of tomorrow, we can say 'less than 6 months away!)
Hey Maggoo - same question to you as I asked above... what are your responses looking like with the date?

Re: 6 months from today
I did the same thing this AM when i woke up but i did it to my fiance - he thinks i am definitely crazy!!
As far as the responses - i have also gotten mixed reviews - however, my mom has been told by some of her friends that they could not come b/c it was the night before thanksgiving. You know what, I am not going to let it bother me b/c it is our wedding and at the end of the day i am going to be Mrs. D and that is all that matters :) Also, the people that matter will be there no matter what day it is - that is how i am looking at it!!!

I completely agree... you would not even believe how many of FH aren't coming!!! It's disgraceful!!! FH's brother is getting married this July 2nd and they already got 24 No's from his side of the family. One of the excuses was that they go hunting that week!! Do you believe it!!! FH and his brother (and myself and FH's brother's fiancee) can't believe how they are!!!

I have gotten a mix also. One of his Aunts said something to his mother that she has 40 people over for Thanksgiving. I said well if she wants to come then come, if not - I feel the same - who wants to be there will and if not well then it is your loss. Some people are very excited because it makes their weekend even a little long with a good party to start it off. What time are you guys getting married??

Re: 6 months from today
Well we switched the ceremony. Originally it was 5pm. Now it's 3 pm because we didn't want the guests to walk outside of the church and it be pitch black. Also, we're keeping our fingers crossed to get some daylight pics too. THe reception doesnt start until 7 though. HOw about you?

Re: 6 months from today
We are doing the ceremony and reception at the Swan Club so our ceremony is starting at 7PM.
People will come up with the strangest reasons not to come the nite before a holiday -you are right alot of people are excited to kick off the holiday weekend with a wedding :)

I'm getting married that day too!!! And at the same time!!!! People were kind of weird about the date when we first told them, but now it looks like it's gonna be ok. I am having a small problem getting hotel rooms that night- everyone is booked!

What hotels have you looked into already? Is this for you for your wedding night or your OOT guests?

Re: 6 months from today
Our ceremony is at 2pm. I originally had it for 3pm but I wanted some outside pictures also. We are going down the street from the church to the arboridum (spelt wrong). My photographer said not to waste the 45 minutes of daylight driving to the Thatched Cottage to get outside pictures. We will still be able to take some there but it will be night pictures. Our cocktail hour starts at 6pm and reception 7pm - 11pm, this way the people who live in NJ and want to drive home to be home for Thanksgiving will be able to without it being too late. I haven't even thought about hotels yet.

Re: 6 months from today
We are going to Aruba for our HM.
As far as favors - i am not sure if we are doing them yet...I am Jewish and my fiance is Christian and at Jewish weddings favors are USUALLY not given out - however, today more and more couples are doing it. If we do i would like to do a donation - i lost my grandparents and an aunt recently and i would like to put the money to good use :)
