I'm at just under 6 months and i'm starting to freak out. When are you supposed to start contacting your major vendors? We really haven't spoken to any of our vendors since booking.
Photography - we've done the e-pics but no clue who will be shooting the wedding
DJ - no clue who will be our DJ
Hall - I'm guessing about a month before the wedding to start planning cake and menu?
Flowers - booked but no clue when to start the process
Not worried about Video isn't booked Hair/makeup isn't booked
I can't think offhand. HELP!!!!!

You should have chosen your photographer and dj when you booked them and had them in the contract. I would contact them now - just to make sure you get who you want.

I depends on your vendors, but most didn't want to see us again until 6 weeks (florist) and 2 weeks prior to our event (RH, DJ & Photgrapher). You can always contact them and try to at least meet with your specific person, but I figure they don't want to get confused since so manay people are meeting with them at a closer date.

We didn't have a preference and unfortunately we weren't really given a choice.
They know we weren't thrilled with the e-pics so i'm hoping we can get somone else.

Thats what my thought was. That it might be too confusing at this point.
I'm stressing myself out for no reason right now.

I was in a similar situation, I didn't pick my specific photographer or DJ..... this is the timeline that we did.
RH (menu/cake) - met with them 6 weeks prior Flowers - 6 weeks prior
Photographer - didn't even meet with them, but I sent in all my info, and must-have shots 2 weeks prior.
DJ - got my list to them a month prior, and the owner contacted me 2 weeks prior to go over specifics and tell me who my DJs were.

don't freak out. there's a lot of things that are still too early to do. unfortunately sometimes you just have to sit and wait. i would think the last three months are so are going to be the craziest because you'll meet and finalize stuff with your vendors then. just take a deep breath and relax for the meantime.
