60th birthday party ideas?

MIL is going to be 60 next month and we would like to throw her a surprise party. She isn't into anything fancy and really doesn't like things at restaurants. She loves doing things at home and cooking for her family.

Here is where the probelm arises. We live in a tiny apartment so it won't work. FIL is laid up in bed with a knee replacement and a cracked vertebrae so using thier house would be hard.

Any idea of where we can do this for her? Maybe a VFW or Knights of Columbus?

TIA

Re: 60th birthday party ideas?

I dont know where you are from but 2 years ago we had my sisters sweet 16 @ the Moose Lodge in Greenlawn. I thought the hall was very nice. We brought in our own caterer.

Re: 60th birthday party ideas?

She is in Fort Salonga so Greenlawn would work. Do you have contact info? Who did you get to cater it? Thanks!

I am so sorry but I dont have any contact info. They are located on Pulaski Road.
Andersons Deli (in Kings Park) catered it.

Re: 60th birthday party ideas?

We know someone who has a Bar-B-que business. He just pulls up with all the equipment and makes everything then and there. It is great for an outdoor party....but I don't know about next month.

Re: 60th birthday party ideas?

That is a great idea. I just don't know if that would work for the end of March. It may be too cold for something like that, no?
