8 days before my wedding, my house almost burns down! (pics too)
I woke up in a PANIC this morning at 7am!!!
We live in a 3 family home and my whole family lives here... In the upstairs is my 2 brothers, in the middle apt is my grandparents and on the bottom floor is me, FH and my mom.. The house is pretty big so it's amazing how this happen..
About 7am I hear my 2 brothers yelling outside.. Thats normal sometimes so I didn't think anything of it (our neighbors are nasty)... Then my mom comes runnning in my room and tells me to get up that THE HOUSE IS ON FIRE!! OMG I ran out of my bedroom in my undies and I was about to run outside (LOL) and FH reminded me what I was wearing (thank god).. The smoke was comming into my apt from upstairs so I had to change and get out of my apt.. It wasn't bad at all in my apt, but just as a precaution, the Fire Department asked us so go outside until the smoke cleared up..
My brothers apt set fire while they were sleeping.. would you believe that the stove (gas) malfuctioned and the flame just 'went on'... My brother had is lunch bag in the corner of the stove resting on the counter as well and they had a disposible aluminum pan w/ cake in it on top as well.. My oldest brother (Jimmy), woke up from the smell and got my younger brother (JP) up and out of the house with their dog.. Well, Jimmy ran back in for his cat.. I would have done the same thing so I can't talk but that wasn't very smart... He said he had to crawl on the floor because the smoke was so thick.. JP ran back in to see if Jimmy was okay and he was crawling around looking for the cat too.. By the time they found the cat the fire department was here and the fir was finally out..
Afterwards, the paramedics recommended that they both go to the emergency room so they were both taken away by ambulence... The were covered from head to toe in soot... THANK GOD they were both fine.. The doctors had them hooked up to breathing mechines and they were both on a nebulizer for a while w/ oxagen... I am soo happy ne one got hurt... That would have made my life a nightmare!!!
On the downside, their apt is totally ruined.. The kitchen has to be ripped out and all the walls and ceiling are black as night... I tried to clean the floors but it's just hopeless up their.. I can't believe it!!
My wedding is in 8 days and my RD is being held in my house.. OMG, what are my new in-laws going to say!! I could care less really, as long as my family is okay!!

BTW: My spelling is wayy offff because my nerves are shot and I just can't think lol
