8 New PICS ADDED * - * - * Hello From PARIS !!! * - * - *
Original post by RomeBride
Hey everyone, my darling Jeff and dog Snowy and I have been in Paris for almost a week now and I've missed you all! I am typing from the hotel room on wireless internet. I can't wait to share more about our incredible trip to the City of Light.
For now though, I wanted to suggest that anyone who is looking for pashmina silk and cashmere shawls (to wear over their wedding gowns) should look in Paris. I got a wonderful red print one for other occasions for only $5 euros which is crazily LESS than a silly bottle of cola here! FM me if ya want info and I'll answer by next week.
I'll be back soon with many pictures but I have to run now - 2 seconds away from my romantic future hubby is too much in this amazing city. Here's a pic of us at you know where plus a closeup of my ring that I took at the Louvre museum.
Edited for spelling, hey - it's 4:58 am here lol.

Re: BUMP * - * - * Hello From PARIS !!! * - * - * (I'm back with EVEN MORE PICS!)
Hehe, that's why I'm a photographer (amateur, but I have already had 2 photos published!!!) If you fm me I'll send you more pics because even though it seemed so magical that it was unreal, I assure you that standing in the freezing cold to get those pics was SO worth it. I'll post more once I get them edited -RomeBride
ETA: These pics weren't even taken with the professional camera that I've been saving up to buy (A Nikon D2x)... they were with a D70s which is so 'amateur' comparatively hehe. I guess I'm just good lol

Here's one from before we saw a show at the Moulin Rouge - it was so interesting!
Ahhh....didn't you love the Moulin Rouge. I bought the soundtrack, I'm addicted. What a great show. People told me it was going to be trashy and for tourist, I loved it. I'm going back again!!!

Haha we bought the Feerie soundtrack CD too lol (their current show).... it was so incredibly creative. I spoke with women from Canada and South Africa who went to The Lido, Crazy Horse, AND Moulin Rouge but thought that the Moulin Rouge was the best. We actually liked the dinner too and the service was excellent. Isn't it odd that I haven't even seen the movie yet?

*** My Paris Review 1 ***
OK here's a review for all those of you who have sent me forum messages asking for it.
***It's a REALLY good thing that there is a 40 day!!! residency requirement in France before you're allowed to get married there... because otherwise Jeff and I would have for sure, like we talked about since it's so easy to get lost in the romance there. I guess we'll have to wait for Italy, sigh hehe.
About Paris, it's so incredible! First of all, we stayed in the Marais district which is in the 4th neighborhood... very close to the Louvre (only 2 stops away.) If you're into museums you have to do the Orsay and the Louvre (we went there on 2 days and still didn't see even 1/5 of the 300,000 exhibits!!!) We saw the Mona Lisa at the Louvre and the guards were so intimidating. The Orsay was on strike though hahaha for only a DAY so we missed that (where Van Gogh and Monet ones are.)
You HAVE to see a Moulin Rouge show because it's a once in a lifetime experience and the dinner was great, but very expensive (about $180 a person including the show!!!!) It was scary though when the dancer went into an underwater pit with massive snakes! Continued in next message...

Of course the Eiffel Tower even better at night than daytime in my opinion but the metro is so far away. The only thing is that you MUST get something called Paris Visite because it allows you UNLMITED travel on the metro and RER train in a certain # of zones for 1, 3, or 5 days and offers massive savings. FM me for info.
There is also a museum pass to over 70 sites that allows UNLIMITED access to the normal admission (not temporary exhibits.) for 1, 3, or 5 days. It's not worth it though if you don't spend a lot of time in the museums.
You can't forget the typical sites of the Arc de Triomphe, Champs Elysees, Sacre Coeur, Notre Dame, Sainte Chapelle, the Opera Garnier, Versailles, etc. Some of the more 'unique things' we did included the Catacombs (bones of over 5 million people, so sad) and Pierre Lachaise Cemetery (we spent 4 hours there and saw Chopin's grave and even Jim Morrison!) I also got exclusive perfume from Frederic Malle that is so dreamy which Jeff helped me pick out. Now my sweet future hubby is always so romantic in everyday life but it was so amazing in Paris like magic, and we were finding ourselves running away to hide and steal kisses from each other... it was great! Hmm, maybe we should've missed the plane back. Continued in next message...

*** My Paris Review 3 ***
If you want any other details or websites I'd be sooo happy to help you because I did 6 months of research on the trip before we went since we got the discounted tickets in May for the 'off-season' travel. Even the hotel offered 30% off since it was winter and it was so worth it. I feel like I now know Paris even more than the USA haha (at least how to get around there and what to see.) It's REALLY hard to not go with a tour company and do it all on your own but allows you to see WHAT you want for as long as you want (priceless).
The only annoying thing was that store hours, post office, museum, and other sites for WINTER are so haphazard and people close shop at a whim without posting or telling anyone. Most museums are also closed on either Monday or Tuesday every week, so it takes a lot of planning to get everything done in time. As you know the shopping is great... but the drinks (even bottled water or Coke) approach $3-8 euros PER GLASS (about $4-10 total US). Bread is free with all meals if you ask for it, but we couldn't believe that even butter costs $1 Euro per PAT!!!! The atmosphere though in the cafes is enough to make you forget about the bill.
I hope that this helped a lot for everyone who is going there. I'd be so happy to hear from you via FM so I can benefit others than just my sweet Jeff and Snowy dog. Thanks for reading and commenting!

Thanks! Here are 4 more. Sorry it takes so long to edit and load the pics and I have to make them soooo small to fit the 60KB max here. I can send full size (noncompressed)pics to anyone who wants 'em.
1. Louvre as seen from the Sully Gallery
2 and 3. My hilarious Jeff and I imitated over 40 statue busts in the museums, not to be disrespectful but just to have fun. We got some pretty adorable looks and laughs too! I'll post more if anyone wants.
4. View of Eiffel Tower from the Pere Lachaise Cemetery (easier to see in my large files)
OK that's all for tonight but more later! I am going to go watch tv with my Jeff now.
