Did anyone read in the paper today that as of yesterday pluto was removed as a planet because it is so small? SO now there are only 8 planets instead of 9...isn't that weird?

That's weird b/c like last week they were adding 2-3 more making it 12 based on a new definition of a planet and that Pluto would remain because it more than fit the new definition.

Seriously! I feel so jaded.
Actually, I'm not sure what I feel....it's just a planet [well, I guess just an orbiting body? what is it now?] that hasn't done much for me in my 25 years.....but i feel like science class wouldn't have been the same without the occasional joke about mickey mouse and his dog, ya know?

I totally agree about Mickey's dog!!!!! Pluto in DisneyWorld must be so sad that he's no longer a planet.

I know...I am a teacher and I am saving the newspaper article for when I teach the solar system cuz now our textbooks are REALLY out of date!
