Re: 8/7/04 Brides....

I guess its now under 300 days left. I think I'm doing okay. I have the site--ceremony and reception, the band--ceremony, cocktail hour and reception, so far. Started looking for the dress. Are either of you feeling as though there is a certain amount of hysteria attached to this wedding planning process? Such an emphasis on doing it all now. I guess I'm feeling this way because I went to my first sample sale this past week and there was a certain amount of pressure the salepeople were laying on all the brides.

So how is your planning coming along?

i was just laughing about that today...every guy friend i talk to about the weddings says don't worry you got plenty of time its not until next year.

DO THEY NOT UNDERSTAND...LOL

Luckily, fiance does so thats good. but yes pressure is there. for example I am trying to lose weight (at what point am i not..LOL) but i want to wait until the very last minute to get my dress EVERYONE SAYS NOT TO...so we'll see

you sound like you got a lot thus far.

Hey girls...
I've also accomplished a lot so far, but I feel pressured to get the rest done. It really hit me this past month. I've been engaged from September 21, 2002...so, time sure went by quickly.

Re: 8/7/04 Brides....

At least your friends tell you you have plenty of time. I am the first of my friends to be getting married and everyone is very curious about the process, which is nice, but when I ask for their advice, everyone kind of scratches their head.

My fiancee is great. He keeps telling me that I need to do what his boss always ask of him--he's an architect. Always give him three choices. He also reminds me to relax and have fun.

You and I do have plenty of time for the dress. One place I went to was a small design salon and the designer told me that she would need six months in advance; at another place, the designer told me four months, so we don't have to find that dress now. I understand where you coming from with the weight loss. I would love to lose a couple more pounds and do a few more pilates sessions before I find the dress. But aren't the fittings suppose to be used for the weight that is lost just prior to the wedding? My fiancee's sister lost 10 lbs right before the wedding because of nervous energy as did a friend of my maid of honor.

We'll all have to wish you happy birthday on that day! :) One of my fiancee's groomsmen, eloped with his girlfriend last year on August 7. So we're going to try and a little something in celebration of their 1st anniversary at the wedding.

So we are all linked to you now!
