9-4 Wedding Review!

First let me say that all in all I was really happy with the job that my vendors did the day of the wedding. We had to make some pretty big changes 2 months before our wedding and for the most part, all of my vendors came through.

VILLA LOMBARDI'S - A++++++++++
We booked with Villa's 2 months before our wedding. Keeping that in mind, they did an excellent job accomodating our every request. The food & service were amazing!
Steve, our Maitre d for the evening was on top of everything and really worked hard to make sure that everything went smoothly.
My two complaints - Because there are 2 weddings going on at the sametime, the guests share the bathroom. When I made the ladies room basket, I out our names, and date on the basket so that our guests would know that they should help themselves. Not even an hour into the wedding, my sister approached me to tell me that the basket had been ransacked! I know that Villa has no control over this, but I still got upset because I went thru a lot of trouble and put some cute things in that basket. : (
Any Bride getting married at Villa's. Be sure to triple check the cake you are getting. Our cake was delicious - but it was tiered when it should have been stacked. Had I known I was having a tiered cake, I would have put flowers between the stacks instead of around the layers. : )

I haven't seen the proofs yet, but I have to say that from start to finish everyone I spoke to and worked with at Dan Kriegers was professional, courteous, and just really friendly. Any question that I emailed or called Dan with was responded to immediately. The day of the wedding, Joanne & Tara showed up early to start prearing for the day. I couldn't have asked for more! I will post more once I get to see the proofs.
I forget the video guys name, but we all called him our best friend because he was SO nice! He offered to help us out of limo, held our flowers, and was just great to work with!

FLORIST - Flowers By Brian - C
I know, I know. You look at that C and think what is she crazy?
As I stated earlier. I made a lot of changes with all of my vendors when we changed venues 2 months before our wedding. FBB was the only vendor that had a problem meeting the challenge. To bad for me, I didn't know it until the day of the wedding.
The day before the wedding, I met with FBB to approve the bouquets, give directions, times, and pay the bill. Everything seemed fine.
The day of the wedding the driver who was delivering my personal boquet was 45 minutes late dropping it off at the hotel. The driver called me and said he was lost. I said no problem - get here as soon as you can, the photographer is waiting.
Anyone who has had or is having a wedding at Villa - after the cocktail hour, the Maitre d will show you the reception hall before your guests come in. Imagine my surprise when I look in the room and see flower stands that I didn't order, and missing votive candles on the table?
In defense of FBB I will say this. The bouquets were gorgeous, and even though the stands were not my personal taste, they were still pretty in the room.
I spoke with Brian yesterday afteroon, because I was not getting anywhwere with the manager Bobby, and discussed all the things that went wrong. He is going to do the right thing and refund me some $$$. He was very professional, and apologized for the service that I got. My advice to any bride using FBB - CHECK YOUR CONTRACT. Just be sure that what the person writes down is what you want.
If anyone asks 'Would you use them again?' - Absolutely! I say this because in the end they did the right thing by offering a partial refund, and Brian was really great about it.


LIMO - Sir Oliver - A+++++++++++
Ladies - you have nothing to worry about with Sir Oliver. Even with all of the changes they were on time, and professional. We had two limo's going to two different locations at two different times, and they got it right! Ed, our driver was excellent! He even showed up at the end of the night with the Escalade we used that day to drive us to the hotel.

BM DRESSES - Bridal Suite of Centereach - D
I give them a D n behalf of my BM's who had to put up with 5 different fitting's, bad attitudes, and just total chaos!

BRIDAL REFLECTIONS - Massapegua - A+
I had a great experience with them. I went in for 3 fitting's and the dress was perfect. The staff was friendly and professional. My only thing with them - stop trying to sell me a bra! LOL!!!

DJ - Elegant Entertainment - A+
Tom did a great job!!! We had a long do not play list and he followed it. He also played everything that we asked to be played.
He showed up early to set up, and was really professional throughout the event.
For anyone who is using him or wants too - he is not always quick to return calls at his business number. Call his cellphone!



HAIR & MAKEUP - Vicky from Anastasia Salon in Great Neck - A++++++++++++
Vicky is awesome! She returns phone calls, follows up with you while your planning, has inexpensive trials, and did a fantastic job on all of us!

Barrons - - A+++++++++++++++
I went to Tri County Flea market and found my headpiece and veil. They were great to work with and customized the veil to the exact width that I wanted!
