90s Alternative Fans: Fave Song?

I am borrrrred.

I have sirius and love the 90s alternative station. It's been a while since I've heard some of those songs and they just remind me of a really fun time in my life, when I was going to nassau and just having fun. Today as I was parking the car after getting back from lunch, my absolute favorite song from that period came on: Edwin Collins' 'A girl like you.' I think it's from the Empire Records soundtrack .... 'I never met a girl like you before ...'

Best. song. ever. from the 90s, that is.

I also love The Toadies 'Possum Kingdom' - 'I will treat you well, my sweet angel, so help me Jesus ... ' and Seven Mary Three's 'Cumbersome.'

Anyone else love this music and miss it???

Yeah, I listen to a lot of singer-songwriter stuff, so I like coffee house and the spectrum. I can't stand bands like daughtry, nickelback, etc ....

isn't that song from the natural born killers or pulp fiction soundtracks?? never met a girl like you before? I think so.

i love when they play temple of the dog.

FH and I are thinking of having 'I've Been Waiting' by Matthew Sweet as our first dance song.

I love Janes Addiction. 'Classic Girl' one of the best songs of all time....

The Cure, Placebo.... I could go on and on...

Loooooove Matthew Sweet. That 'Girlfriend' album is so great.

Lithium 24! I love that station. I live on channels 22, 24, and 26.

Hard to pick a favorite song. I listened to mostly Britpop back then - Pulp, Blur, Radiohead, Oasis, Elastica, Supergrass, etc. Lithium 24 doesn't play a lot of that stuff, but that's ok 'cause I kind of OD'ed on it back then.

There are some songs that they play A LOT but that I don't tire of, like Offspring's 'Gone Away,' Social Distortion's 'Story of My Life,' etc. And sometimes a gem like the Rentals' 'Friends of P' comes on and I turn up the volume and sing along like mad so other drivers think I'm nuts.

Love 'Possum Kingdom'!!!!!! Definitely miss the 90's alternative music - Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Bush, Soundgarden. I still have some of my fav flannels tucked away hoping that they'll make a comeback, hahaha.

LOVE soundgarden but audioslave is a pretty good substitute. i gave up my flannels a while ago...sigh .
