After yesterday........I have been contemplating this date and I have read the entire spread on this subject, however I am curious. Of all those brides who now have picked this date, are you having any regrets after yesterday. The feeling yesterday was so somber in NYC. SI and Bklyn. I am wondering if I should still go with it just to gat a Sat for cheap?

People are very divided on the subject. I think as more years go by it won't be that strange having it on that day. But do keep in mind if you have it that day, that some of your guests may have family/friends that died on that day and want to attend memorial services, etc. Also, as more years go by, halls may not lower the prices on that day anymore (well I don't know, I'm just guessing).

a friend of mine gave birht last year on sept 11th - she was very upset but in many ways, it might be good to have a happy occasion on that day too - thats what many of those who were lost might want. if you choose, you can do something in memory of those lost as a tribute during your cremony or reception....

I hate to comment on this touchy subject, but before 9/11 this year I was opposed to people getting married on 9/11/04, and although this is not going to sound good in words, it seemed like this year was more 'back to normal' than last year. I was in the city this year, and it was different than last year. Not to say it wasnt sad or that the day should be forgotton, but I think many people are starting to move on with thier lives. I think we should remember that day, and I know I always will no matter what my plans for the day are (working, ect). Seeing the widows and family members on TV talking about how they are moving on makes me feel like I have permission to move on as well, if that makes any sense. Good luck to those who decide to get married that day.
