Jenny, I am almost embarrassed to say. We have:
Hall: The Crescent Beach Club 6:30
Church: Our Lady of Miraculous Medal in Point Lookout (as long as they save our date) 3:30
Band: Ron James Orchestra
I am in the process of looking at photographers and I am almost dizzy, I have seen so many. That is the main hold up right now. I never knew I was so picky. By this Labor Day, my goal is to have both Photographer and Videographer. Jenny, you are doing pretty well! You should feel pretty good you have a lot accomplished!! Are you starting to stress a little bit? COMING CLOSE TO ALMOST A YEAR!!!!

moving...so....slooooowly....

Here are my short-term goals...(this is the only way I ever accomplish anything). You ladies will have to help me meet these goals!

1. In March, order veil and headpiece.
2. By the end of March, pick and order BM dresses.
3. By the end of March, do pre-cana for church.
4. By the end of April, pick and order invitations.
5. By mid-May, pick a florist.

These are the most important things that I HAVE to do...everything else is just details.

I think you may wanna get a jump on ordering dresses. I don't think March will give you enough time. They take about six months to come in.

And which florists are you looking at booking?

I know, I know....but I am hoping to get them off the rack at Ann Taylor or somewhere like that. I am all about the elusive re-wearable bridesmaid dress!

Florists - no idea. Haven't given it a thought at all. Any recommendations?

Are your girls sample sizes?

Re: 9/5/04 Brides....What do you have done?

I think so - size 8, possibly 10. We've seen some we liked, but none that we've *loved* so far.
With designers coming out with spring lines, I think we should be able to sort it out in the next couple of months.
Speaking of florists, I'm clueless as to how they work - I assume many of them will do multiple events in one day? I mean, do they ever book up?
Thanks!!

Well designers sizes usually run bigger than regualr clothes. I am a size 9 myself and my dress is a size 16 My BM who is usually a size zero is wearing size 4. very strange. GOod Luck, with the dresses I hope you find one that you LOVE. The florists do book up. If the florist is any good he will defintely not do more than 2 or 3 weddings per day. If there is only one location then he definitely should not be doing more than 2...JMO..there is no way you can get the attention you need when he is doing 5 weddings in one day. I think you should figure out how many table you are going to have, do you want high or low centerpieces, they tend to vary DRASTICALLY in price. The size of you bridal party, do you want altar pieces, pew decorations and so on. Then once you figure that out go meet with a couple and see who gives you the best deal. Then you can gauge how much is reasonable to spend. Do you have a flower budget in mind?

Re: 9/5/04 Brides....What do you have done?

OMG, what fantastic advice!! Thanks for the information, I had no idea how florists work. But this makes complete sense.

Flowers are the least of my concerns, in all honesty. I love flowers just as much as anyone, but I can't remember a single thing about the flowers from any wedding I've ever been to. The money isn't really the issue - my parents are paying and all they want is for me to be happy - but I doubt flowers will be a large percentage of the budget.

That said, I have a feeling that once I visit florists and see all the beautiful arrangements theycan make, I'll go crazy and want one of everything!!
