99% of our Invites our OUT

I am so Happy. My FI mailed the bulk of our invitations today. I have few stray addresses to track down but it's basicly Done. YEAH

My wedding is 8 days after yours and I just finished addressing all but 5 of them tonight. The 4 of the 5 are missing info and the other I am holding for a few weeks. Going tomorrow night to Hicksville PO to get stamps and then stamping and stuffing tomorrow, Thursday and Friday nights. Hopefully mailing on Saturday. So I know how you feel. I can't wait to send them on their way. Now you get the excitement of waiting for the responses. That will be fun.

My invites went out yesterday. My mom has been doing all of the work. I live out of town. I feel bad that she's been doing it -- but she tells me she doesn't mind. Atleast I helped write out the inner envelopes. Now the fun begins! I guess we'll start getting responses in a week or so. That really makes it all seem like it's actually happening. Am I really behind in getting mine out? I was planning on sending mine out next week but both of you are getting married the same weekend and already have them out. Now I'm concerned...

I found out last night that my FI stuffed the 99% in the wrong order. He liked his way better than the sample I made up for him. UGH!! I just have to let it go and remember that in the long run people will probably not remember little things like that.

I think next week is just fine. I sent them out now since I really have a long list and am hoping enough people will decline. If I have over 200 respond YES, I'll have to change from a sit down dinner to a cocktail wedding and I'll need some time to make the changes. MISHA you should be just fine sending them out next week. NO WORRIES :-)

Ok, thanks. We did send save the date cards out about 6 months ago so hopefully people will have enough time to make their plans! I actually thought I was sending them out kind of early since all the checklists say 4 to 6 weeks! I guess they are a little outdated! :)

Yes it is a little early. We didnt do save the date cards - just emailed out of state and those that constantly travel. We have a good amount of people who will be traveling from OH and a lot of people who may want to book hotel rooms because we are out in Smithtown and end at 1:00am. I wanted give everyone the opportunity to plan accordingly.

And we are still missing a good 20%! How hard is it to fill out a card, place it in the envelope and drop it in the mail. I get a call today 'oh I thought it was due next week but we are definately coming. ' UGGH Sorry I just have to vent on this topic. How are all the 9/14 - 9/16 responses coming in??

We have about 30% still outstanding but they have until Thursday for us. It is very aggravating though, it's not like we didn't make it easy enough for them!

I have done that before. It was an honest mistake not to mail it out, so I called her the day of the response and told her I was mailing in the card...its better than not getting any response at all.

Mine are due back on Thursday also and I still have about 50% that have not responded. I got two back today 1 yes and 1 no, but I am really really starting to get angry about this. Even some of my own family members have not bothered to respond. We have a minimum of 75 and we invited 95. So far we are only up to about 50 with the responses I have gotten. This is so frustrating. I am hoping that between now and next Saturday the majority come in. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I must say ladies I vow to never be late with a response going forward. I never realized how annoying this is. We were away for the weekend and came home to six responses that put us at our minimum Big Sigh of Relief! We attended a party last night about 5 of our friends who have not responded came up and told us 'of course we're coming to your wedding' or 'you know I'm coming, right.' UGH Just fill out the card and mail it! Some of these people have gone through this, you would think they would try a little. Thanks for letting me Vent.
