A Day at the Florist (w/pics)

Original post by Goldi1021

Ok so today I worked on my CPs with my florist. We also decided on personal flowers. They are tall centerpieces as the ceilings at the temple are VERY high and a low CP would get lost in there IMO.

Note: The vases will be filled with the curly willow (twiggy stuff coming out from the top) as well as those magenta-ish looking orchids. He didnt put them in tonight because it really wasn't necessary. We also changed the cream hydrangea to light blue over all but it only shoes in one spot in the picture. I wanted a colorful natural look with absolutely NO dead white. The cream off-sets the colors but NO DEAD WHITE!!!

My bouquet will be a mixture of pink and lavender roses with some type of white orchid that I can't name (as seen in the picture - only pink posted though). My 3 BMs will have an exact smaller version of my bouquet. My two MOH's will have a different bouquet each. One with lavender roses and one with pink roses and those white orchids in the picture.

BUT the BEST part of tonight was when he says 'Would you like come crystals in your bouquet?' I nodded like a little kid in a candy shop - practically salivating ladies. ICE ICE BABY!!!

FH wanted to have the Iron Maiden centerpiece on foam core that were meant for a Bar Mitzvah. Do I stand a chance? The florist suggested turning the 'N' in the NBA centerpiece into an E for Ed and we could have a basketball themed wedding. Between the two of them, I was gonna choke someone - all in fun I guess. I needed some laughter!

Afterwards, I had a mini meltdown in the deli with my sister and FH. I appreciated their input but I missed mom being there.

Thanks ladies. I can't wait for my mom to see them. I had it arranged so when they broke down the centerpiece, that they send my mom a mini version for her room in rehab. I think she will brighten up after that.

Thanks! I suppose I am the anti-bride in regard to color. I have never been a fan of white wedding flowers. My sister had all white flwoers and though beautiful, I thought they looked clinical. I wanted the wedding to feel like a black tie dinner party not a froo-froo bridal extravaganza. Just not my preference.

Beautiful choices! I love the colors and the hydrangea are great, they hold special meaning to me so I get happy when I see people using them.
