A 'DUH' moment I had...

So I was checking out ring bearer pillows. One for my nephew and one for FH's nephew. We thought we'd symbolize him entering my family by my nephew carrying his ring and his nephew carrying mine.

The lady proceeds to tell me that the ring bearers don't actually carry the REAL rings on the pillow!

Now, I admit, I am blonde, but I didn't know this!

I knew the Best Man carried them, but thought that happened when there wasn't a ring bearer.

Re: A 'DUH' moment I had...

Perhaps the BM can attach the rings to the pillows right before they walk down the aisle. This way, no chance they get lost without someone seeing where they went if they somehow got detached from the pillow.

Or you get the plastic or metal or whatever they are rings from party city, and you attach those, that way from afar it looks like they have actual rings

Re: A 'DUH' moment I had...

I did the same thing last May only it was FMIL who had to break it to me that rings on the pillow were sewn on fake ones - she even said it slowly

I agree with this. It's ceremonial..yoru nephew can walk down the aisle and go directly to your FH and his directly to you. You could both lean down and give them a kiss and then they sit down. How special that would be!

Re: A 'DUH' moment I had...

My priest actually asked me if the RB was carrying the rings or if the BM was....he said everyone does it however they want.

So if you want them to carry them...they can. JUST TELL THEM TO BE VERY CAREFUL.

Re: A 'DUH' moment I had...

i think you should do it! You know me... i always say do what you want! But seriously just attach the rings to the pillows. Why can't they do that? I think it would be cute!

Re: A 'DUH' moment I had...

I've actually seen it done both ways...with fake ones and the actual ones attached to the pillow. If the boy is a little older, I think he can probably handle it!!
