a faint 2nd line that disappeared??

anyone ever have that?

I saw it! I took a first reponse early test with FMU, within 3 minutes a VERY faint 2nd line showed, I woke DH and it was not a figment of my imagination as he definalty saw it too....About 2-3 minutes later I looked at it again and it was GONE, not even a trace of that line?

Donna, OMG - no I've never had that happen. Did you go to Pee on a Stick.com and see if they have info???

I have to go to my in-laws for mothers day - I'll check back later!!! I'm so excited, this could be your month!!

unfortunately these HPTs are crap :(

things like that happen all the time .....for some people though it's because there isn't enough hcg to make the line stay..they tested too early and were actually pregnant...how early did you test ? What dpo are you ? I say wait and use a digital....when you pass your LP

I had a dark line....went outside to tell my Dh and by the time we finished celebrating and making calls it was gone. He never even got to see it. We went to the store and got another one..then he saw it but that one also faded

there may just not be enough hcg in your system.....i find that answer early is MUCH more sensitive than FRER....try that one!!

baby dust....

Oh Donna how frustrating!!!!

I have heard of line 'appearing' (usually evaporation lines) on HPTs well past the point they should appear, but I don't believe I know much about lines disappearing

How many DPO are you? If you are still testing 'early' I would be VERY HOPEFUL that the line disappearing is because, as the other ladies have said, there isn't enough HCG in your urine yet - maybe wait and try again with FMU tomororw and see what happens

I AM HOPING and this is YOUR MONTH!!

ETA: this is from peeonastick.com... I copied and pasted:

Q: The line disappeared after the time limit! Is it still positive?

A: A positive result will generally stay positive for 48 hours. Some very faint lines may fade and become difficult to see, however. Note: sometimes a line will appear briefly as the dye in the test passes over the area where a positive result would show. This is not a positive result.

My suggestion: as soon as urine is applied to your test, set a stopwatch for 9 minutes, 45 seconds. Place the test on a flat, dry surface and walk away. When the alarm goes off, read the test from the same distance you would read a book-- allow 15 seconds to examine the test. If there is a pink line (or blue, obviously, if your test uses blue dye), you are pregnant. If there is no line at the 10-minute mark, you are not pregnant or you are testing too early and there is not enough hCG to be detected in your pee.

If you really get what looks like a true positive, and it disappears, I suggest calling the manufacturer and asking for their input. They may compensate you for the test as well.

I think it does fade after some time passes. I would take another one.
