A groom's perspective on your online cult you have

Original post by autumn

This is the groom to be

My fiance spends a lot of her time on this site. Trying to get ideas and to share her thoughts about our upcoming wedding. As I do fully support women actually thinking about their men, I have got say that you women are bordering on insanity. How many lonely nights has your fiancee had to go to bed alone because you have to see the latest post? How many dishes stay dirty in the sink because you have to get 1000 posts for a T shirt? I'm tired of hearing about who is getting seat cushions and who is getting a chocalate fountain. I dont care!!!! All I am worried about, as are many of your own fiances is How much is this gonna cost? A lot of married men I talk to say the sex drops off after marraige. I have come to learn that this is false. This may have been true before the internet but now thanks too LI weddings myself and many other guys go to bed 'Blue' because of this site.

Thanks alot Ron & Liz

Here's my

Why is it guys will ignore us all day in regards to PS2, football, baselball, sports and the list goes on - but the minute you are doing something that doesnt involve Harassing them to pay attention to you they are all over you like 'White on Rice' . Then the minute you redirect your attention to them again they are looking at the TV screen.

John Answer me that, oh and make sure you use good detergent so you dont get 'Dish Pan Hands' -cause LIW is here 4 Eva!! -LOL

MEN!!...

Re: A groom's perspective on your online cult you have

I just want to comment that my FH John means no disrespect to the ladies who were alittle annoyed with his post. John was trying to be funny and see how many LIW brides would respond. I told him beware, I might lose some friends on this site.

He is a wonderful guy and he likes to kid me when I come on here. He has his play time with his friends and his online poker stars and I have my LIW to keep me busy. He added in the dishes to be funny and the funny thing is we don't live together at the moment, he stays over my house at times to see me. We enjoy each others company when we are together. He is also well aware of the gifts each of the ladies won at expo's, he was surprised why we haven't won anything. I respond that you don't like those types of things. He askes me what happens when the wedding is over and if I will stay on this site still chatting, I respond to, ' I will chat on newlyweds now' He laughs.

I hope you ladies understand he was only trying to be funny. Sorry if any of you were offended. Its not John's intention to upset people, he is a very down to earth guy. If I didn't think he was, I would of kicked his butt to the curb a long time ago.

This is the groom to be

How many lonely nights has your fiancee had to go to bed alone because you have to see the latest post?
None! FH is his own man and he decides when he wants to go to bed. My participation on this site doesn't affect his precious sleep in the least!

How many dishes stay dirty in the sink because you have to get 1000 posts for a T shirt?
Whatever number of dirty dishes he has left behind. Personally, I clean up after myself and expect him to do the same!

I'm tired of hearing about who is getting seat cushions and who is getting a chocalate fountain.
My FH is not. He loves coming to showcases, LIW events and GTGs. He's met several of the lovely ladies on this site and is always quick to ask how they are doing and to send regards when things aren't going well.

I dont care!!!! All I am worried about, as are many of your own fiances is How much is this gonna cost?
My FH would disagree, and in fact has said numerous times that he doesn't understand any guy who has that attitude. Reason - ummm, it's your (his) wedding too! What's the reason you don't care about anything more than finances? Not that I am by any means encouraging you to all of a sudden become groomzilla, but my FH thinks the attitude of tell me who to write the check to, and when and where to show up is total BS from any groom. Heck, he was with me at the shoe store yesterday doing a few dance steps to make sure the shoes I was considering would be comfortable the day of. Why?? Because it's his wedding too, and he has put just as much effort into making the day something he and I will cherish forever as I have, and that's important to him!!!

A lot of married men I talk to say the sex drops off after marraige. I have come to learn that this is false. This may have been true before the internet but now thanks too LI weddings myself and many other guys go to bed 'Blue' because of this site.
Lisa, please forgive me for this. Dear Groom, if sex is dropping off in your relationship maybe there is something you are doing wrong. Remember those days in the beginning of the relationship when you were courting your bride to be?? Remember the effort you put in to put on cologne, be clean shaven etc. Where is all that effort now? Remember taking her out on a date and holding her hand, and opening doors for her? Try treating her like a lady and not a sex machine who you want to be at your beck and call and perhaps she will be more responsive!

Thanks alot Ron & Liz
Thanks for the laugh! After everything I've been going through the past few days, I really needed it!

I completely agree with what Darlene has said! My FH agrees to and has ask much say in our wedding plans as I do, sometimes even more! It's our wedding and I don't understand why it should all be put on the bride to plan!!

I take no offense to his words - I laugh at it - he's the one who is losing out on spending time helping you plan your wedding!

He's really not missing out on anything, in the beginning he was dredging the thought of looking at vendors and halls. There are things he isn't fond of only because he feels he isn't good at. For example, choosing flowers for the wedding, picking out favors, invites etc.. I don't mind but I did give it to him in the middle of our planning because he wasn't be helpful. He is apart of decsion making in the wedding.

After all he is joking around.

well, if my dh was more interested in the wedding and talking about the wedding i probably wouldnt have spent all those hours on here - i would have been chatting into his ear instead

he hated wedding talk so this was my only outlet...

trust me- he'd rather have me on here letting it all out then spending our quality time chatting about wedding b.s.

anyway, its kind of funny that your fh would go on here

I think that the only thing women found offensive was the dishes comment. I could not in a million years imagine my FH taking the time to write on these boards He's too busy watching every sport known to man.

No offense taken-but tell your FH he can do the dishes, women are not the only ones who can do house work. In fact, I think since you are planning the wedding he can do the house work-it's about equal work!

here here totally agree with Blue Tulip,

The funny thing is he is so tired of washing dishes at the firehouse and when he comes over my house. He does alot of house hold chores.

Thanks for the reply

I have to say that I found his post hiLARious.

My FH still makes fun of me, but when we're looking for a vendor, he now says, ' well, who do the girls on LIW rave about?'

My John is quite the comedian at times, God I love the man.

I let him know what all of you ladies said, he laughs.

Here's to my FH the man who started this thread.

TO JOHN, I will drink to that
