This is my favorite part:

'Hi honey,' she said.

'You're not going to be believe this!' I shouted. 'I tried to buy those stamps and the stupid little jackoff at the phila-whatever window made me buy more of the stamps we'd already bought! So I got into it with him and tried to get him to separate the sheets but he wouldn't do it and he was such a prick about it!'

'Hello to you too,' she answered.

'Isn't that ridiculous?' I wanted commiseration.

'Uh-huh,' she said. 'That totally *****.'

'You don't sound as upset as I do.'

'You bought stamps and almost killed a clerk. I've been scheduling a church, a reception site, a caterer, a florist, a photographer, a hair stylist, a makeup person, a dress, fittings, bridesmaids, church music, the band, our rings, limos, hotels, save the date cards, invitations, directions, photography permits, our registry, our wedding website, who sits where and who says what, and during that time I've probably almost committed roughly a hundred homicides,' she said. 'But you bought stamps. Attaboy.'

'Point taken,' I replied. My respect for people who plan their own weddings has grown by leaps and bounds over the past year or so, if only because I've been able to see how difficult all of the various people and organizations that have to be tangentially involved end up making things. Something as simple as buying the right kind of stamp can easily send you off on a Michael Douglas 'Falling Down'-type rampage.

So I calmed down. 'All right,' I said. 'I'll talk to you later.'

'Thanks for getting the stamps,' she said. 'Isn't this fun?'

Did you read down? The story about the Olympics made me pee myself.

Very good story, my FH would've given up the first time and gave the invitations back to me.

Is it really $0.05 for each invitation over 50 to be hand cancelled?
