A Heads Up!

Original post by LIWeddings

Well on December 11, 2005 this website will be 10 years old! WOW, where does the time go? So, I was thinking, what can we do to celebrate? First, after doing some quick math I see that it's possible to reach 3 million posts around the date of our anniversary. Thus we must have a 3 millionth post contest. Second, we have to have one heck of a GTG. Third, well, I need some ideas. So, without being ridiculous what can all of you suggest as some type of anniversary celebration where you are on the receiving end?

Wow - 10 years!!! I say an anniversary party is due!

I also agree that the anniversayr party in December and The Wedding of the Year should be different from each other.

I love the idea of the chinese auction as a great way to raise money. You can also do a 50/50 - pin a $100 bill to a hat (or veil or bo-k in this case) - I have some other ideas that I could FM you to save space here.

I LOVE neenie's idea of the wish baskets. For every wish a dollar gets donated.
And since it is for charity in lieu of charging admission, each couple should bring a gift basket of goodies to raffle off. It should be price comparable to whatever the admission charge would be

I just thought of another charity idea related to domestic violence. Old cell phones! Don't they collect them to give to endangered women?

How about a dinner cruise on a boat?

Or I would love a party at Oheka Castle with cocktails, food and dancing

I love that idea. A great dinner with give aways would be nice.

The 1 year 2 year gifting is good, but that would leave out us who are married 6-8 mths The BM dress/gift donation is a great idea. ALso some of the prizes could be a weekend at a B&B on LI or couple spa day at Maxium

JMHO

i dont think it would matter how long you were married--- its jsut a 'theme' idea for the favors/ prizes

I love the chinese auction idea! I Love CHinese Auctions!!!!!

Also, I would be willing to donate a few things for the auction...

I do not know if I would make it, as I am in Rhode ISland, but I'll see what happens!
