My bachlorette party was supposed to be a trip to an all-inclusive resort in the Carribean, but because some people were having money issues, we've decided to go to Newport instead. My friends have a house out there for the summer, so we'll go for a long weekend in August. I'm psyched that now everyone will be able to go, but I can't help being just a little disappointed. My FH and his friends are going to Vegas.

I agree with Jill! My BP was wonderful and we did a one day thing on LI! but I wouldnt change it for anything! My FH went to Montreal and I couldnt be happier for him! Its not about the locale as much as the female bonding of hte day!

Oh, I know we'll have a blast no matter where we are. I was just looking forward to a little pampering, after a year of doing almost nothing but wedding planning. This just isn't the relaxing, sit on the beach weekend I was hoping for, but that's ok. Like I said earlier, I would rather have all my friends be able to be part of the BP instead of just a few.

I know how you feel. My fh is going to Amsterdam, and then for the 'local' bachelor party is going to Atlantic city. Last time I checked, AC is not LOCAL! Mine is still a surprise, but Im sure it will be good, no planes involved.

You'll be pampered on your honeymoon with your DH.

you will have a great time with whatever you do. You will be with your friends and the last big party before you get married.

Re: a little disappointed
i also don't understand all that- why you need to go away for your bachelor party. I don't want my friends to spend all that money to go away jsut for BP. Not to mention, think about how much money your BP is spendnig on being in your wedding, the dress, the shower, the gifts, the hair, nails, etc... i just don't think it is fair. If I was going to go away with my girlfriends- I would love something low key and relaxing- so we can spend time together. Newport sounds amazing to me!
The point is to be with your friends, and we can do that here. Hello!! We live in NY- do you know how many people dream of coming here for their bachelor/ bachelorette parties??
