a little disappointed

so please don't quote cuz i might take down later...

this weekend i was visiting some of my friends in DC and had so much fun! But the first night there we were out at a bar and a little drunk so my friend(one of my bridesmaids) let it slip that my sister is planning to do my shower and bachelorette party all on one day. My friend obv was drunk and shouldnt have said nething but she told me bc she hates the idea also. My friends and I really wanted to make a weekend of my bachelorette party and if its the night after the shower its gonna be rushed and we might be tired etc. Im just a little disappointed and don't know if I should say something to my sister or just let it go.

aww that su cks that you know now, but i would probably say something to her, i mean its not like you know WHEN it is, just ler her know that you dont really like the idea of combining them and would rather they were seperated i dont think thats anything bad if you let her know

I wouldn't out my friend I would prob just start dropping hints to her about what you would like for your shower and Bach partyand make it clear that you would not want it on the same day.

ITA...and also maybe you should tell the BM that let it slip that you realllllly dont like the idea and maybe she can stress that to your sister without you having to say something

ye she shouldn't have said anything, but she did. And if you don't like it, I see no reason why you can't say anything to your sister. Tell her that you were hoping to do a weekend out of the b-party and with the shower and then putting all the stuff away you won't be able to enjoy the party as much.
Tell her you just prefer seperate the 2

I definitely think you need to discuss it with your sister. And explain your reasoning for it.

Damn, that's a tricky situation. I wonder if you could check to see if your sister has put any money down on anything for the bachelorette party. If she hasn't, then mention to her that you were really looking forward to a weekend of fun rather than just one night and how you'll need all day to prepare for it. Maybe she'll get the hint and change things?

this scuks!!
im probably going to be the only one to say this but
good for your friend for telling. sounds like shes looking out for you big time and doesnt want you to be disappointed one bit.
in the end you already know these events are going to happen so you should be able to express these feelings to your sis without it getting ugly.

hope it works out

I would be so thankful that my friend told me so I could address it. I would definitely tell your sister how you feel - it's a once in a lifetime thing, don't settle for something you don't want!

Awwww
I am so sorry that your disappointed. I would definitely speak with your sister and not 'out' the Bridesmaid but just mention that you overheard the girls talking.
Good luck hun!

i don't think you should say anything to your sister. she has probably spent a lot of time trying to put everything together. also you don't know if there is a real reason why its like that. maybe OOT friends/family wanted to be at both & that would be the best way. or maybe it was the only weekend that your friends & family would all be able to make it.

Im sorry, If it where me I would tell my mother and let her speak with my sister to do the b-party on a different night , and I would make hints to ur sister that you want ur b-party to be a whole weekend event

aww yeah i would feel disappointed too bc you only get married once hopefully and so to combo those two things in one day is a lot. you want to be able to enjoy them -I would say something- I mean it is your wedding it shouldn't hurt her feelings-hopefully she is understanding and appreciates that you tell her the truth!

Re: a little disappointed

i'm sorry to hear that you know but look at this as a blessing in disguise! I would def say something to your sister. I am 1/2 way through planning my wedding and there have been a few things that I have kept my mouth shut about & pretended to be happy and then in the end, blowing up and being miserable....its really NOT worth it. Talk to your sister, let her know how you feel!!!

HTH, good luck & let us know how it goes.
