a little help from my li girls for my bach weekend

Hey girls,

So I need a little help...I am booking a spa day at the butterfly garden spa in great neck - i went there this past weekend and liked it. Now my prob is that we are looking to go for dinner and spend the night....can anyone suggest a good reasonable hotel near there or around the great neck area( or even if it is closer to the city from there but as long as its on the north shore) ? and also a good restaurant for us girls to go to?? I know northern blvd is near there but I dont know of any nice restaurants to go to.

Thanks,
Sandy

I know the Inn at Great Neck is there, as is the Andrew Hotel. I've never actually stayed in either of them, but I used to drive past them to work all the time. As for restaurants, if you guys are meat eaters, I would hit up Peter Lugers...fantastic steaks! For Italian, I've been to Mangia Bene on Middle Neck Rd, really yummy food. HTH

I can't really help with hotels, but we just went to Ethos in Great Neck a few weeks ago, and it was delicious! Very nice, cozy atmosphere. It's greek, so I don't know if you'd be into it, but I thought it was very good.

I work right next door to the Inn at GN, the rooms are very nice. A little pricey but its Great Neck, nothing is cheap. We have a lot of travelers and from their experience they don't really like the Andrew Hotel, the Inn is a much nicer place to stay. There is a restarant at the Inn call the the Giraffe Room and a bar too. I def wouldn't suggest the Adria on Northern Blvd. Oh there's also the Roslyn Claremont (in roslyn of course) which is about 10 mins away.
There's a ton of restaurants in the area. Peter Luger, Rothman's, Burton and Doyle, Benihana's. There's an amazing Italian place in Douglaston called Il Toscano (a little $$$) but its worth it. Another one is La Giocanda (i think i spelled that wrong) There's a smaller sushi place on middle neck road called Daruma, there's also a Pancho's on Middle Neck as well (tex mex) and a Greek restaurant called Ethos.
Let me know if you have any other questions, i'm pretty familiar w/ the area. HTH
