A little miffed at Inn at New Hyde Park

So FH and I went the other day to the contract signing and were told that we had to move our wedding from 12 up to 11:30.

Also when we first visited the property they told us we could come in at any time if we had a morning wedding to use the grounds for getting ready and photos but now they say we can only come in at 8AM.

I'm really concerned about whether or not we can get ready in time (our bridal party has 6BM and 6GM)and vendors have to come in to set up too!

What if we need to take photos earlier? I feel inconvenienced when I know that physically there won't be another bride there but mentally I feel as if I'm the one who's imposing on another person's day just because they have an evening wedding!It's our day too!

Have any of you girls encountered this? And how did you solve it?

We really love the place and FH knows I have my heart set on it especially since we signed the contract already.

But I feel like I'm being told, you have X time and that's it. You have to get out before the other BRIDE comes!

Thats not unrealisitic... Most places dont even let you get there that early. We ran into a similar problem with our RH. We explained to the BM that we needed to get ready there early, etc... Well we never had anything written in contract and is it got closer it was as if everything we discussed and agreed with was never said. PUT EVERYTHING in your contract! When I emailed our bm again as it got closer all of sudden theres an hourly charge now if we wanna get there earlier bc the bridal attendants need to be there, etc. EVERYTHING in WRITING! It turned out we arent getting ready there bc it's too friggen aggravating but we are getting there earlier than they wanted to let us (NOT WHAT WAS DISCUSSED at time of signing)... We are paying a small rate bc they have to pay the bridal attendants overtime bc legally someone who works there has to stay with us while we are on their premises... The wedding industry in my opinion are a bunch of money hungry snakes. Ppl can say they love my venue, they love yours, blah blah blah but I dont trust them one bit. Its unfortunate and extremely aggravating considering how much we pay for our weddings vs other states but thats how it goes.

I'm sorry that happened to you! I can't imagine the stress! It is aggravating. I initially tried to get quotes from locations I was interested in by telling them it was a family affair we were trying to plan and you can tell right away they look to price gouge brides! because my MOH called later with the same info for pricing but said it was for a wedding and i saw her eyebrows shoot up to the top of her head!
