Am I the only one that kinda gets aggrivated when a Newbie comes on here and with their first post they say how they hate this or something is ugly or disgusting about something that others may have loved or have already booked, etc. It's one thing to have opinions, likes and dislikes about everything but it's another thing to say how you hate this or that's gross, ugly etc....I try and keep my hates to myself in the public forums, I use FM for that and that's only if someone is asking for an opinion. 'One man's trash is another man's treasure'.
I just had to get that out, I've seen it a handful of times within the past week and was just curious if I was the only one
ETA: Let me rephrase some of what I wrote...we completely value everyone's opinions on here...positive AND negative although if you are going to post something negative don't just be blunt and say 'so and so place sucked' or 'it was the ugliest thing I've ever seen', etc. at least have some facts to back up what you're saying!!!!

I was actually a little earlier this weekend - people were discussing how cheap-o out of town weddings are, and OMIGOD one someone went to even had a buffet , how tacky, don't stupid out-of-towners know that buffets are for cocktail hours? Well, my wedding is in Connecticut, and it's a buffet, and that's already $130 a person. Before tax & Gratuity. That's just the way things are done at this place; it suits the vibe and the flow of the room better. But, whatever, I made my choice and I'm happy about it and I didn't feel the need to start any drama.
Not trying to start any drama now either, I'm just venting because I'm SICK of people telling me that buffets are the cheap way to go, and if I have a buffet, and god forbid a vegetarian buffet where I didn't even pay for meat (disregarding the fact that it's actually more expensive to have the RH create a unique menu for you), then people are going to think I spent too little on my wedding and I'm not going to get good gifts.
Sorry, had a little 'conversation' about this with my mom earlier and it really got my goat. But now I feel better, thanks for listening.

dava i think ur wedding is going to be amazing!!!! and just cuz out of state people do things different doent mean its cheap!!!... and if it wasnt for the fact that my RH offers 4 choices and then offers seconds of anything on the menu i would be having a buffet also!! so no worries its going to be great people just want good food . booze and good music... who cares how its presented!

i totally agree - it is how things are done and how things are presented and some buffets are more $$ than sit down dinners - it all depends on where, when, how, what , etc - as long as YOU are happy!!!

Awwww...I saw these posts that you are speaking of. I usually tell ppl what I like I never say I dislike something unless its a vent post and I say I dislike what someone did to one of u ladies. I'm not trying to start some 'beef' or anything or discourage someone from posting. I just feel thats not a good way to let ppl on the board to get to know ya!

If I have anything negative to say I'll say it in FM. or not at all. Cause if someone really loves a hall or a photgrapher then there is no reason anyone should be saying negative things about them. This is supposed to be a happy and exciting time. I woul sbe very upset if someone started to say bad things about the hall i picked out or the photographer.

I was just watching it and thinking that it was interesting how it seems like everything out of the tri-state area seems different! ok well I feel like I've experienced this from both sides of the fence...
It's so sad but I feel insulted when people say that my RH is much($35)less pp then what it is & what we're paying ugh, do a lil research before you post $$ #1
And I know I'm always honest in my opions so I always try to critique somthing If I don't have anything nice to say, with a positive thought... I hope I havn't offended anyone.

I don't take offense about negative comments on here, I actually read something about my hall and went back to make sure that it's corrected.
I even make some not so nice comments sometimes, but hell it's a public forum. Everyone is entitled to their opinions.
