A little pet peeve of mine...

Am I the only one that kinda gets aggrivated when a Newbie comes on here and with their first post they say how they hate this or something is ugly or disgusting about something that others may have loved or have already booked, etc. It's one thing to have opinions, likes and dislikes about everything but it's another thing to say how you hate this or that's gross, ugly etc....I try and keep my hates to myself in the public forums, I use FM for that and that's only if someone is asking for an opinion. 'One man's trash is another man's treasure'.

I just had to get that out, I've seen it a handful of times within the past week and was just curious if I was the only one

ETA: Let me rephrase some of what I wrote...we completely value everyone's opinions on here...positive AND negative although if you are going to post something negative don't just be blunt and say 'so and so place sucked' or 'it was the ugliest thing I've ever seen', etc. at least have some facts to back up what you're saying!!!!

If you don't have anything nice to say, than don't say anything at all... I think some of us forget that who saying.... but I totally know what you mean Melissa!

i have noticed a few new comers this weekend but nothing in particular - i do get annoyed at that i think because we have all been on here a while and kind of 'know' each other so its different when someone else says something

I agree w/ u there are random ppl who will come on here---and just post negative things about a RH or something else. . .I feel is it is one of 'us' then it is almost okay but I agree w/ u otherwise

I have noticed that a little bit. I hope I'm not being a hypocrite ! If you are giving an honest opinion about an experience you've had that's one thing but if your opinion is based on what someone else has said or experienced I think that's something different. I know I made a post about an experience I've had this weekend but tried to remain objective.

You're right... it's one thing to state your opinion and back it up with WHY you feel that way.... it's another thing to come on here and say 'Oh I hate that!' with no rhyme or reason.

Exactly! Also there are alot nicer ways to put things, you can have an opinion about something that you may not have liked but there are ways to justify why you feel that way and not make somebody else feel bad.

I'm not really too offended by it. I've heard some really great things and I've heard some not so great things about my hall and what matters is that it worked for me and that's why I booked it! New people can BRING IT, I stick by my decision!
