So i contacted duet because now i really want e pics - i tried getting them for nothing, knew it was a long shot
well if we want them we have to pay $200 I just wish i really wanted them when we booked because i would have had them throw them in
anyway we added an extra hour and I wasn't going to have the photogs or videographer stay for the last hour because i figured at that point they really weren't needed anymore. I want them their at 1 during the day to get us gettign ready and stuff and we have them for 10 hours? do you think i should pay to have them stay or it really isn't necessary.... thanks

We were told towards the end of the wedding the photographers arent really necessary and usually leave.
Why dont you see if you can do a 'trade': they stay one less hour in exchange for epics (or even a discount on epics)?

IMO I dont think its necessary. u gonna have so many pix as it is of everything that by that point u should just kick back and enjoy the extra party hour. but of course it depends on if u want the night shots done of u and FH.
so are u gonna pay the 200 for the e-pix?

I agree that there are better things to spend that money on. after all u just got a house. just make sure to have lots of getting ready pix at the wedding
also, this is something I do all the time: when ur going out somewhere nice and are all dressed up ask someone to take a pic of u then strike a pose. I got some awesome shots of me and FH this way.

i wouldn't pay for them to stay for the extra hour, i don't think its really needed. There will be soo many people taking pictures at your wedding that you will be able to get pics from that extra hour
We are only doing epics because they are included in our package, if we had to pay extra for them we wouldn't be doing them

It really depends on how important it is to have them there for every last minute. We will have our photographers/videographers for the last hour because we are having the vienneese hour and would like to take pics of that and the last dance. It's really up to you - 10 hours is a long time to take pics also.

e-pics are just called e-pics cuz they are usually done before the wedding but if you really want some professional photos, you can have them done after the wedding when you have some more money. if you are worried that they would charge even more after the wedding, ask them to put it down in your contract which guarantees you will do it and then ask if you could do it a couple of months after the wedding cuz you will be very busy now and would rather wait and have something nice to look forward too afterwards (blah blah blah).
as far as the hour at the end, i dont think its completely necessary, not many people have it and dont miss any pics at the end but definately the getting ready shots are important in the beginning so i wouldnt sacrafice an hour at the beginning in exchange for the end (at least to me they are)

How much do they charge for an hour? If it's more than $200 then definitely try to swap out your last hour for e-pics. I personally only have my photogs until halfway through the reception. The getting ready time, church, after church, and first dance pics were the most important to me.

Can you find another photog (maybe some one local) to take e-pics for you? Maybe they will be less
Or see if they can throw in the actual photo shoot, but not any extra prints since that is where the money is anyway?
Did you tell that they you know other people who are getting them for free? Or see how much it would be to upgrde to a higher package tht includes them... maybe for 300 you can get the epic and extra photos, or an extra hr at the wedding?

Patken told us that they re-create some of the shots earlier in the evening since by the end of the night 'Most brides and grooms look a mess.' (i.e., makeup everywhere, tired, drunk, etc.) so ours is going to leave about an hour early, and we're OK with it.

I already only have them only till 11 - my wedding ends at 12 so i don't want them leaving at 10 just so i can have e pics

Thats a little harsh! geez! Well at least you might have a back up. Its really so dumb of them not to do this for you, b/c you would obviously order prints through them.

I like Gloria's idea. They may have your buisness, but they want to keep it- and they want you to reccomend them to other people. It might more effective if you meet in person.

aww sorry you are feeling this way...
Here's what I would do, I would keep the last hour. I think the last hour is sometimes the best and gives the best pics when everyone has had some drinks and letting loose.
regarding the e-pics, if you really want them I would pay the $200. If it is in your budget do it. You will never have this time (being engaged) again I think it is a special thing to capture in pics.
