If one more person tells me 'Oh you must be so happy your son is finally in Kindergarten! That makes it sooo much easier/cheaper/whatever now!' I might hit them.
Yes. It would be easier IF I were a stay at home mom. YES ... it might be cheaper if I worked from 10-3 and didn't have another child in full day pre-school.
As it is....
I didn't get hom until almost 9 last night. I was late to work. I have ZERO gas because I haven't had time to stop for any. I have to leave work at 3 to get my son at the bus stop, then bring him back to work until my FH can pick him up at 4:30. I have to work until 6. Then I have to get home, feed the troops and get to Parent Night at the school by 6:45. After parent night I have to run to the store and pick up a nap mat, a pair of sweats and a blanket for my little guy for Wednesday. Then I have to get home - fo over whatever they brought home from school -with the obligatory oohing and ahhing... get their teeth brushed, faces washed, make sure everyone pees and has a glass of water. Then we have to get the bed time stories read, lullabyes sung, prayers prayed and goodnights said. THEN I have to shove a load of laundry in, prep dinner for Wednesday, make lunches for the next day and shower. After all this - I can sit at my PC, check for straggler work e-mails and maybe get some wedding planning done.
Is it ANY WONDER that I am soooo far behind on everything? There are all these posts about what people ARE having and are not having. Here is my answer. I am having NOTHING. Because I don't have time.
Well... that felt a little better....

Calm down and breathe. I spent the evening in line at Verizon only to be told that I can activate my old phone [new one vanished] online for free or pay to activate it on the phone or in store. by the time i get home, DH is calling, he wants take out...guess who ahs to get it??? ME! i never got the breakfast dishes done and now there are breakfast and dinner dishes in the sink. the sitter is going to think i've lost it! yeah, real school made it harder for me too...at least before she was with someone the whole time iwas at work...i didn't hav eto figure out 2.5 hours in the afternoon.

Re: A little WHINE in the morning...
Here is a hug to all the mothers out there trying to raise their children, work & plan a wedding. I do not know how my mom did it for sooo many yrs getting up at 5:30 getting herself ready, me dressed, off to school, her off to work, cooking dinner when she got home at 5:30, getting me ready for bed, homework etc.......
I do not have any children yet and I can barely handle working all day, coming home @ 7:00, fixing dinner, doing laundry etc. I am exhausted. So here is a hug & a toast for all the women who do it all & somehow get it all done!!!

Re: A little WHINE in the morning...
I had the same glass of whine last night. Between school for myself, preschool for the two boys and High School for the two older ones, school supply shopping for astronomically priced things that they will lose in the first month, work, cleaning the house and running errands. I feel like I cant catch up to take a breath. Anytime you feel like whineing you go right ahead

actually, i'd like to tell you that it gets easier, but i don't want you to kill me less than 26 days before my wedding
i've been a single-mom. i know your pain. just know, that your babies will appreciate all you do.
and god is good to women who make sure their mohawk-wearing-boys pray every night

you seem like an awesome mom to me - busy, but who isn't. just think, how many other people would say 'i'm done' and have someone else do it? awesome job on raising your kids! =0)

Re: A little WHINE in the morning...
Take it one day at a time and get a babysitter on the weekend to get away for a few hours. You're doing great!

Re: A little WHINE in the morning...
Rojerono, I can say from my own journey through this that it really DOES get better!!!
And all the petal cones and slipper baskets and guest books in the world could never compare to what you've already got!! You won't miss that stuff, you will be beautifully married with or without them. Stay focused on the important things and keep enjoying the little moments, that's really where it's at.
You are super-woman, you can do it!!
(Disclaimer: not trivializing petal cones and slipper baskets and guest books! )
PS - where do you live, can we help?
