A Little Witch!!!

My FI's brother's wife has been planning for a few months (without letting FI or I know until recently), a HUGE family reunion RIGHT BEFORE OUR WEDDING! Talk about trying to steal the spotlight!

She wants to have it down south, and rent out a huge house on the beach...she's gone so far as to call everyone in FI's family, give them price quotes for the specific house, airfare...

Meanwhile, she tells us that it's just an idea she's toying around with...yeah right,

And she's aware that some of FIs family are strapped and are going to have a difficult time paying for airfare and hotels for our wedding...now she wants them all to pay for this reunion right before our wedding.

We told her it's not cool, and a lot of his family said the same thing, that the wedding is so close to the reunion that the wedding will be like a reunion.

I can just see her riding on her broom, with the music from the Wizard of Oz!

Sorry to hear about this. But I'm sure your family members, if strapped for money, will realize that your wedding - a once in a life thing - preempts a family reunion - which happens on a more frequent basis - and will choose your wedding over the reunion.

She ended up cancelling the reunion, and is all p'oed. Even FI's parents told her that it's a little strange to do this right before the wedding.

I don't know, I just found it very strange she planned the whole thing, and kept us in the dark about it for so long.

If anything, she made herself look like a fool with the family.

I just needed to vent!

Don't you wonder sometimes about how weird people can be???? It's not as if she is an old lady who never got married - she's married!!! She should be helping you with your day - not her day in the South!

Sorry about that! Sounds like the family has her number tho. It would serve her right if nobody attended the reunion & everyone went to your wedding! They're right it will be a reuntion of sorts. Why don't people take 2 seconds and THINK before doing silly stuff like this???!!!

If I were you I would send out Save The Date cards to the families for your wedding so that everyone knows about YOUR event. Then you FH needs to speak with his mother and brother about this situation. It is unfair to all involved.

I sent Save the Dates Out quite some time ago, and she still pulled this sh*t! Like I said, it's been called off, but that doesn't negate her 'witchiness'

MY FI had it out with his brother (her husband), and said it was totally inappropriate and rude.

huh! Can we say issues? Wow, that just makes no sense! I'm glad that the family saw through her and she's the one who ended up with egg on her face! Good luck!!!
