a MONSOON in merrick!!!
yesterday my mom threw me a surprise shower at la piazza in merrick! when we walked in, the host told us to take a placecard (oops!), but my parents and FH just kind of shuffled me in and ignored him. HAHAHAHA i was so confused - i didn't understand why they ignored him and wouldn't let me take a placecard. it got kinda weird and for some reason i got nervous and afraid to walk in, so FH had to kind of pull me.
(i've realized that i give myself a little too much credit ---------- i thought i'd be able to figure it out, but they totally got me!)
my mom put together such a beautiful party for me --- it was a day i'll never forget. my bridesmaids put together a couple of cute games, too, and totally helped me with my gifts. they also did me a huge favor --- bought my thank you cards AND address-labeled the envelopes in advance!
i told FH he's in trouble --- he's too good of a liar! lol also, i walked in to find a gorgeous bouquet of 2 dozen roses from my best friend (FH, of course) on the gift table.
it was so much fun to be the one sitting in that big doofy chair with the silly bow hat!!! we got a bunch of really great gifts from our guests :) my in-laws gave us a great set of luggage!
to top it off, my mom and dad bought us all of our dishes from pottery barn. when i read the card from them, i started to cry --- i was overwhelmed.
i am a very lucky girl! from picking the place and going for tastings, organizing all the details, picking out favors (even MAKING THE CENTERPIECES!!!) my mom deserves BIG UPS!!!!!!!!!!!!
