A month later...here it is my 8/2 Carlyle wedding review!

Sorry it took so long!
I always thought of how much detail and time would go into my review, but due to a three week HM to Italy, getting a new job the day we returned, and starting school tomorrow it will be brief. PLEASE ask any questions and I will give you more details.
The day was beautiful, although it did rain that night it didn't effect us at all.
All ran smooth at the church...well almost. More to come.
Carlyle on the Green- Wondeful! They really do a super job. We got so many rave reviews from our guests. We did not see cocktail hour (due to pictures) but heard it was great. Everyone was impressed with the service. Their attention to detail was excellent. I brought over a lot of 'extra' things like pictures of the wedding party and family, slippers, a picnic basket (for extra food for us), guestbook, etc. and they did exactly what I wanted plus Sue packed it all up for us at the end of the night! The electric went out due to the storm but thank goodness their generator kicked in right away! The only thing that was effected was the airconditioner (it wasn't on full power)
They really take care of you there.

Stefans- The flowers were beautiful. My bouquet was stunning. The centerpieces looked perfect in the room and the entrance arrangement was more than we expected. I was impressed with everything.

Jeff Lubin (a Hank Lane band)- They were really great, they not only sounded good, but they were very cooperative with our other Italian band and bagpiper. However, they did mess up on our cake cutting song. I wanted them to play Recipe for Love by Harry Conick Jr., and I'm not sure what they played. They had a great energy, and really rolled with the evening. We had a lot of people who wanted to either talk or entertain at some point in the night.

Jovan- Telmo was the best, in fact I hardly knew he was there most of the time. We had to do pictures inside due to the storm, and he made the best of it. He told us if we are not happy with the pictures, that he will meet us anywhere we want to take them over. We had a second photographer too, and I forget her name, but she seemed great.

Ultimate Class limos- Excellent service. We had all brand new cars! Our driver really helped out a lot at the church with organizing everyone. But when we were getting ready to start the receiving line the priest asked one of the drivers to fix the cloth runner and he got an attitute with the priest! The priest ended up fixing it himself because the guy was being a real ***hole. Overall, I was very happy with them.

Pauline- She was super! She came to my cousin's house and did our hair and make-up and got us out of the house on time (7 BM, me, and my mom). She does great work and I LOVED how we all came out. I was so lucky to have her there helping me look my best. I think she is the best thing going for brides.

Royal Brass- I only saw them when I came into the church, and they looked great. They sounded really beautiful during the ceremony. We only had them for 1 1/2 and we should've had them for 2 hrs. because they left before we came out of the church.

Italy was incredible! The Almalfi Coast was unreal, Capri was breath taking, and Sardidnia was amazing. We stayed at the most beautiful places and met some wonderful people.

I think that is it...if I forgot anything I will post again! I don't have any pics yet, but will scan some when I can.
I can't believe it has already been a month! It all flies by, so enjoy all of it.
Continued success to all...

Re: A month later...here it is my 8/2 Carlyle wedding review!

Congratulations on a great wedding!

I am also planning a honeymoon to Italy for two weeks. I have been going a lot of research on the internet but I have a few questions.
What type of transporation did you use while you were in Italy - did you rent a car or buy a train pass?
Did you start in northern Italy and then work your way down? I was thinking about starting in Milan and then working my way down to the coast.
Thanks for all of your help.

Re: A month later...here it is my 8/2 Carlyle wedding review!

Hi Heather, and congratulations! Like JuneBride, my fiance and I are also
planning our honeymoon to Italy. First stop: the Amalfi Coast! Then we're
going to Rome and Florence/Tuscany. We haven't actually planned much yet,
as the wedding's not til July. But I'd love to hear your itinerary and
recommendations of places to stay/things to do/best way to get around/etc,
if you'd be amenable... Feel free to contact me via email at
[email protected]. I also sent this to you via forum
mail. All Best, Alison
