A not so merry xmas

A not so merry xmas

We found out today that my Aunt will probably not make it to see the new year. At the age of 47, she needs a heart AND lung transplant. She has smoked like a chimney since I can remember and had apparently found out 3 years ago she has emphysema. She told no one. Not my Uncle, not her siblings and not my cousins.
I cried today at the imminent loss of a family member. I think I cried the most for my 25 year old cousin who will lose her mother. Who just got married a year ago, and is trying to have a child her mom will never meet. I cried for my 18 year old cousin, just out of high school, who will have to face the real world without his mom.
I am not one for prayers, and even if I was I know nothing short of a miracle would help save her life. I just ask this: all you girls who smoke, think about how that decision might one day affect your family. How you could leave your FH a widower or your children without a Mom. It's a new year soon, try your hardest to make the resolution to quit.
Merry xmas to you all.

So sorry to hear that you have to go through this Meg. My fh smokes and I try to tell him everyday that he should try to stop. Because it does effect everyone around you but he doesn't see it. My prayers are with you and your family.
