You are so lucky to have such a special aunt! I wouldn't explain my mother's absence, it might get you upset. There must be a reason your mom can't do this (having absolutely nothing to do with you) and I'd feel sorry for her. If anything, maybe this experience will make you be a great mom one day!

I agree that your Grandmother and Aunt are more of a Mother than your actual mother, but I totally understand how you feel. My Grandma treated me similarly growing up. It stung that she was my grandmother - I can't imagine the pain from it being a mother.
My suggestion is to cling to the people who DO love you, and don't blame yourself for those who don't. It's their problem.

Thanks all for the advice. I have decided to write my mother a nice, long letter to get some stuff off my chest. After I put it in the mailbox I will forget it. There are too many good things happening for me every day for me to allow her to ruin the fun.![]()
