A question for all the drinkers out there...

A question for all the drinkers out there...

Ok, I know about 'beer before liquor, never sicker; liquor before beer, you're in the clear.'

But, what about champagne?

I'm going to a wedding sunday and plan on drinking both champagne and mixed drinks. Should I do the mixed drinks first and then the champagne, or the reverse?

I personally would consider champagne as a liquor and go with the usual rule. Have fun!

I would consider the Champagne to be like beer since it is carbonated. But I do not drink champagne b/c it gives me a wicked headache the next morning.

After doing some reasearch on this, it turns out that this not true. After watching a 20/20 report that said it wasn't true, I did some more research and it turns out that alcohol is alcohol and it doesn't matter what you drink.

Its just that a lot of time when drinks are mixed, people tend to drink more and that is why they get sick.

Thus, if you have champagne and follow with drinks, as long as you have lots of water you'll be fine.

Have fun!

I read that it is beer (and carbonated alcoholic beverages) before liquor. The carbonation supposedly affects the absorption of alcohol into the body. So champagne would be in the beer and carbonated beverage category

(not sure how much truth that rhyme holds - I actually just read it was totally bogus, but I like to follow it just in case!)

Champagne gives me a killer hangover regardless of the order of consumption...I love it though!
