A question for my fellow Westbury Manor brides - re: flowers
I'm getting ready to start making florist appointments and wanted to do a little research first. I met the Westbury Manor's in-house florist at the last showcase. She had some low centerpieces (roses & hydrangea) in 6'x6' square vases and said they would be $30 each (when I was at Burton's ordering BM dresses, they quoted me $75 for the same thing). She also had large cylinders with submerged orchids for the same price. And since they are in-house, there is no delivery fee or worry that they won't show up, etc. However, the flowers didn't look fresh, so I am worried about booking with them. Has anyone ever used the in-house florist at WM? If so, were you happy with them? I'm wondering if maybe the flowers looked old because they were leftover from a wedding or something and they just used them as a sample for the showcase. But, wouldn't they want to put their best foot forward and show something awesome?I'm also going to look into Hidden Essence and a friend of a friend who has a flower shop in Queens. I don't want to spend a lot on flowers because they're really not that important to me. What I want are: simple low centerpieces, bouquets, boutonnieres, a couple of flowers to top our cake with, petals for the FG and table, and corsages for my mom and grandma. Since WM decorates the ceremony space, I don't need flowers for that. So, if anyone has quotes for something similar, please FM me. Thanks!!

A question for my fellow Westbury Manor brides - re: flowers
We used flowers by Simply Elegant as our florist and didn't pay more than $1400.00 for 10 Centerpieces, Dais Centerpiece, 5 Bridesmaid Bouquets, Bridal Bouquet,10 boutonnieres, Throw away bouquet, Flower girl basket with throw away petals, 3 corsages and flowers for our cake. This was back in 2012 but I don't think they would raise their price by a lot now. Our flowers lasted long and they were all fresh, everyone was really fighting to take the centerpieces home. Richard owns the company and he is great to work with. He was on time and very organized. I have some pics in my album. HTH.http://flowersbysimplyelegant.com/

We are using Flower by Burton. I am surprised Burtons quoted you more because I am doing all high centerpieces and feel like I got a really great quote.

Jaime, I was surprised too! I've heard that Burton's is very reasonable. I want to do 2 low CP's per table, so there's no way I'm spending $150 per table on flowers if I can spend $60 per table for the same thing. I just want to make sure they're fresh and pretty. Hoping to get some more quotes this weekend!

Hey Simba did you meet with Richard from Simply Elegant. June actually recommended him to me and my fiance too and I liked him a lot. He quoted me a really good deal compared to the 4 other florist that I went to. He's so reasonable. How did the consultation go for you?

I really liked Richard and his prices were very good, but I ended up going with a friend of a friend who I clicked with.

A question for my fellow Westbury Manor brides - re: flowers
I didn't price tall vases, only low CP's.And the florist at Westbury Manor ended up blowing me off, so I didn't bother pursuing them. Michelle at Hidden Essence and Richard at Simply Elegant quoted me almost the same and were both way more responsive.
