A Question...May be TMI...

A Question...May be TMI...

What happens if you have your 'monthly friend' on or near your wedding day, as far as fitting in your dress? I tend to get bloated just before that time, and clothes fit a little more snug. What happens if your dress fits more snug? I figure they won't fit the dress tightly, but fitted. Just something I thought of. And I am not on Birth Control, so I don't have the option to 're-route' it. Thanks!

I am on birth control, but what I did, and be aware, this is a little crazy and anal retentive of me

I figured out when I will have my period and when I will be ovulating and am trying to schedule my fittings around it. When I ovulate by boobs are significantly bigger. So if you figure out what you will be on your wedding day, then have your fitting at the time the month before, and tell your seamstress.

I'm sure they deal with that all the time

Hey, that's a good idea. I guess (when my time comes--for fittings that is) I will need to do that. Thanks!

i didnt give this any thought and i literally got it while my makeup was being done that morning. my dress was SO tight that i practically couldnt breathe all day. i think scheduling fittings around it is a GREAT idea.

Try taking midol? I don;t know if that will help. Stay awya form salty food. I Am DEFINITELY going to g on BC and re route AF, so there's NO chance of having ehr show up at the wedding or HM. You have enough time to think about it, if that's something you might want to do, you'd only have to be on BC for a fw months, and plus it'll prevent unwanted souvenirs from the HM (unless you want them)

ETA: I thought I was anal! That time of the month fitting thing is a great idea!

Thanks for your thoughts, but unfortunately Midol is not an option for me. It is to prevent water retention and I have passed out 3 times in the past from dehydration durng AF! Dr told me I should not take anti-water retention pills b/c of this. As for taking BC, I was on them for 8 yrs, and had unexplainable headaches (tried to figure out the cause for 2 yrs), then I stopped the BC, and headaches stopped. Also, we are hoping for a Honeymoon Baby. Just wondered how everyone else felt about this.

Stacy04, I did one more then you...

I was so obsessed with not having it on my wedding day, that when we got engaged, I got a calendar out & figured out every month when I would have my period & be ovulating until April 2006!

It is great to be on birth control...To my dismay though, I found out I would have my period for my wedding, so my OBGYN is going to fix that for me....

As soon as we got engaged I went on BC so I could manipulate when I have it.

That is a great idea!!! Great advice for someone I am lucky. I am getting the week before the wedding (hopefully it is on time)

If you use birth control pills or if you are planning to use them 3 months earlier before your wedding, you can always ask your OB/GYN to prescribe one that helps you not retain water in your body as much. Jasmine is the name of the pill that has this. And to be sure you don't have your montly friend on your wedding day, you make sure and count the days the month before. If it happens to be that way, you start your next pack right after the one finishes and then you won't get your monthly friend for the wedding or the honeymoon.

LOL I did mine for about 7 months before hand.

You would just have to tell FH, we have to change the wedding day!!

I will be getting mine a couple days after I come back from the HM

It is actually called YASMIN, not Jasmine....
It is the best pill they ever made. =)

You can always try my BC - Ortho Evra. It's just a patch that you can take off when you do not want to use BC anymore. I have used it since like November 2002 and it works great!!! I re routed it once too for a trip to Mexico. That did cause some MAJOR cramps for 1 day each during the following 2 months (which I had NEVER experienced before) so that was the only downside.

It's back to normal now though and it was worth it.
