If you get sick of the same thing day after day after day DO NOT join Curves.

i'm a curves girl. i hate exercising, and i get bored about 5 minutes into it...so curves works for me b/c i can count down how long till i'm done!

I get better results at a regualr gym. Curves was very boring, and 30 minutes isn't long enough of a workout for me.

Me too. I can do 1/2 hour easily, plus you know exactly which machines to use, how much to use them, etc.

It really depends on the person. I absolutely love taking group classes at my gym, I could never do Curves, I love the motivation and enthusiam of a class setting.

curves worked for me for about 2 months and then i stayed the same..i think with curves your body gets used to doing the same thing the same thing the same thing so i think it would be better with a gym or a curves like program that does different time intervals each week..with curves its alway 30 minutes..

You cna do more than 30 min at curves..some people build up to 4 or 5 revolutions instead of 3, then you cna go in the back and do crunches or use the exercise ball, etc. Plus you can always work the machines harder!

I like Curves better. it's cheap[er, smaller, it doens't smell bad, and when I go there I know exactly what I have to do, so there's no thinking involved, no counting reps..it's just a reallt relaxing release. I also can't do what I'd do at a regular gym which is plan to do more and not do it. If I go to curves I'm always gonna finish my 3 cycles.

I can't really go anymor,e although I'm paying for it b/c of a pinched nerve..I'm trying to work my way bak there, but I LOVE curves! it's sucha positive environment and you get a lot of personal support!

I don't know where you are located, but the Ladies Workout Express in Wading River also has Pilates and yoga classes. So you can do the workout then do extra classes if you'd like.

I like areobic classes as well, does anyone's gym have a class called bounce? When I was home I went with my mom to her gym and they had this class, WOW what a workout. You bounce on mini trampolines. It was a blast. If your gym has it you should check it out.

My sister's gym has this, but she gets bruises on her toes from it, so she can't do it anymore She just bruises easily, I guess

My experience is that curves is just helpful to maintain your weight, and lose some inches. A gym offers more variety, and gives better results.

REGULAR GYM! I thought curves sounded like such a good idea....then once i started to do it, i got bored AND they have shorter hours and many of them arent open on sunday!!

I get intimidated in regular gyms so I prefer the format of Curves. You can work as hard as you can to get more benefits, you can do more then the recommended circuits. They have a month to month, no committment plan if you want to try it for a while.

Anything that's a girl's only gym, as opposed to co-ed. I feel too self-conscious at a regular gym.
