So here's the deal - my FH is from Colorado so pretty much none of his family is gonna be able to fly in to New York for the wedding. Because of this, they're planning on throwing us a SECOND wedding when we get back there. I WAS gonna just wear my wedding gown again (because i LOOOOVVVVE that thing!!), but then I realized last night that it's probably not going to be as formal as the real thing. Just a nice dinner with all of his extended family. So maybe I should go with something more simpler, but still white (to give me that bride aura)
I definitely do not wanna go buy ANOTHER wedding gown. First off, that's weird, and second - i just can't afford it. Any suggestions on where I could find a nice white dress (floor length) for under $100? Maybe Pzaz? I dunno.
Any help would be appreciated!!! (I live in Suffolk county - so a place nearby would be great)

yeah, i considered that... but now suddenly i'm feeling like if i'm gonna go buy another wedding dress, i should just stick with the expensive, beautiful one that I already have. If I'm gonna be smart about it, I should either just wear my wedding gown a second time, or buy a regular, white (non-bridal) dress. The problem is that for this kinda thing, i really don't wanna go over 100 at all. Just because I'll probably just wear it this once (I don't like to wear 'white' too often) and it's not like there will be a photographer there, like there will be my actual wedding (which is what makes this dress 'only being worn once' WORTH all the money, ya know?) I'm really in a bind right now.

Look for a BM gown, or separates. You can always dye them afterward.

Re: a second dress - help me out
estelles...this summer they had a nice white dress with a bit of a bubble skirt for around 100. I might even try ebay or the dresses for sale thread on indiebride....a lot of gals on there have really casual dresses, and some would be happy to sell. If you are a 16, I would be happy to loan you the ivory mob dress from david's I wore in Vegas. I won't be back east for the next month however.

How about a BM dress like this one or any in white? Also, Estelle's in Farmingdale.
I would just wear my original wedding dress again Who cares if its too fancy -- you're the bride! When else will you get to wear it again???

I think that you should wear your dress again...it's your day...I don't think that you can be 'too dressed up'. Plus...you'll never have the chance to wear it again!

yeah, i know. I really, really wanna wear it again, but i definitely don't wanna feel like an idiot either. Like being all fancy in this big elegant gown when we're just having a nice dinner in a banquet hall. I might ask his mom about it (the one throwing it for us). You're right - maybe she'll wanna have pictures with me in the dress, but FH def won't have a tux at that point. And I don't want people wondering 'Why is that girl still wearing a wedding gown, she's already married'

Re: a second dress - help me out
cassandra i totally hear u - weddings in the 'country' are TOTALLY different..lol u'll probably have guys in jeans and u'll be there in ur big extravagant wedding gown lol. so as much as i'd want to wear my gown again, i can understand how u feel! i would go with the BM dress idea that JJC posted :) see if u find any u like & get it in white! Try Estelle's on Rt.110 too..don't know if u've ever been there but they have SO many dresses. Also Distinctive Dresses which is right on middle country & 83(the ruby tuesday shopping center). U can also try department stores(macys)..i'm sure white gowns will be on sale considering summer is over! Another idea is Ebay, but that's super hard 'cause u can't try them on...
here are some target dresses too! SUPER cheap..they are ALL under 100 bucks or right around there
u can even do the sash in white..
Also from JCrew(a LITTLE more expensive..more in the $300 range)
