Would you have your engagement party at a place where a close friend was going to have their weddin but broke up with her fiance??? I asked the friend and she said it's my day, but she would be upset. What would you do?

if at all possible do it somewhere else. Its just emotional baggage with some people and they get hung up about it and its best to avoid those situations.

I probably wouldn't have it there. I think it could be hard for your friend. I'm sure you'll find another, even nicer place to celebrate your engagement!

Hmm it might be a difficult situation for her. At first I was thinking you shouldn't do it, but if i were in her situation i think it would be hard to go to an e-party at the place I was supposed to get married at.
