A small vent....

A small vent....

I never really complain about the wedding. I am really excited about the whole thing and since FH finally moved here, settled in, began working, it's been more exciting.

When we booked photo, I finally realized the planning had begun. We had the RH for so long and never did anything else that it didnt really feel like planning....more like wedding 'looking'

Now I'm starting to feel like I should be buying the small stuff so that it's not all at the end. But in the same breath I'm feeling like...it's too early....things might change....we still have 17 months....i don't want things collecting dust.....

I just don't know what to do. No one is influencing me either way...my mom thinks its a great idea that I get jump started...I just don't know what my deal is....

Am i alone?? Should I just do it.....or am I going to be an online buying psycho?!

HAHA I am in the same boat. i want to get it all done now.. or at least get a jump start. I bought one thing for the bridesmaids so far. I figured if I do it in small pieces it wont feel as bad on my pocket.
but startnow! why not?! my downfall is i cant make a damn decision! lol so I cant buy things yet becuase i can't even decide on stuff!

If you have the extra money, why not? If you see something you like, why not? Eventually, you're going to have to get the small things. So why not start now?

We're all in that boat hun!!

I say go for it!

If you have the movie, and its what you want/will need...
then why not start now? little by little i think it will be good!

I'd buy the things you know you need and you'll use now. Just be careful and don't go too crazy, you never know how your vision of your wedding will change over time!

I agree - by doing the research i really make sure i give myself a TON of options. Then when i find myself going back to the same thing i bite the bullet and go for it.

I'm ALL about getting things done sooner then later - i want to be able to enjoy my wedding planning and engagement and not be stressed towards the end.

Thanks ladies....

As I was reading these I remembered that I bought a cake topper that I fell in love with when we first got engaged. I have since changed the wedding theme and now I'm hoping it will look ok just sitting on the sweetheart table.....oh man....lol

ugh I know how you feel! esp since my wedding's at the very end of the year, it just feels too far away to even do anything, but I'm so excited and don't want to wait!! I think if there are things you see that you know you def want and won't change your mind about, get them! I hate to be scrambling last minute to find things when I'm sure at the end, it gets really hectic and crazy! I hate when you're searching for something and you're like .... ooo i found something I loved a year ago and now you can't find anything that compares to that! If you love it, get it!

I'm about a year out. I've been doing a lot of looking. If I see something I really love though, I'll get it. I just bought the dress I'm wearing to my rehearsal dinner the other day, yes I said the rehearsal. I love the dress. I'll love it next year too, so I figured...why not? You know your tastes. Go for it.

I've only purchased things that I knew for sure were a definite (our toasting flutes, unity candle, channa plaque, etc). Things that I am up in the air about, or things I look at and think 'I may like this but i could possibly find something else' I hold off on purchasing. Like you said, you have 17 months and your ideas can change a thousand times between now and then.

Definitely start buying things like the ring pillow, flower girl basket, unity candle, etc... Get it done with now so you don't have to stress over them as the months get closer to the date (which will be before you know it!)
