A story about my favors

o you know the whole story of how we got our favors?

Darren and I were christmas shopping
and I made him stop at the lenox store to look to see if they had the little china gift boxes so I could see them. We looked all over the store and could not find them, we searched for a good hour!
As we were buying something else and we were just about to leave Darren turned around and there they were!
But we decided on not getting them because they were smaller than we had thought they would be!
So we said to ourselves that ****s only if they were a little bigger!
We leave and I'm a little upset cause I had really liked them.

Anyway, we continue shopping and go into Mikasa,
we are walking past the first shelf and bam there they are..in the bigger form!

I was estatic!

I take the box up to the counter and say I would like 75 please...

so the guys looks and says I am sorry ma'am we only have 11. I ask him to start calling other stores
and he calls another store and they have 26 but they are on hold for someone else, so we can't get those. Te warehouse only has 36 left.

so we leave

and now I am oooooooooooooooooooooooo upset!

We leave and go to a different mall
and while we are shopping I realize that i lost my cell phone and I think i dropped it in Mikasa.

I make darren drive me back and I look at the boxes again and am like screw this I am getting these!!!!!!!!

So I go to the guy and ask him for the number to the store where they were on hold because I want to call them in the moring and see when they are off hold so I can call and buy them that minute.

He gives us the number and it turns out that the store is 1 mile away so I make darren drive me to that store and the woman at that store
says you want them all and you want to pay now
and I say yes
so shes like they are yours! WOO HOO

I then make darren drive me back to the other store (4 mikasa's in one day)

We go back to the other store and the guy calls the warehouse and gets the 36 for us!!

Now this was like 4 weeks ago and we still have not recieved them

(mind you he told us this was the national warehouse and there were no more in the country)

We started getting nervous...what if they sold them to someone else they are only a holiday promotional item we cant get them...what would be do blah blah blah
Anyway I call the woman and she says I will find out what happened and call you back
she calls me back and says ok well the 36 for you are stuck on some boat somewhere but I found some left in some other stores so I was like well I would feel a little better with a few more can you find and and shes like sure how many
and I say 15and shes like nooooo problem
and the kicker is.....

now the drumroll begins

They are on sale 50% off....the extra 15 we got plus the 36 and for 130 bucks less than what we were told in the store!!

There are happy endings
I am sooo excited

I thought we might not have enough and now we have plenty last night we did not even think we would have enough to keep one for ourselves!

I called darren to tell him
thinking he would be estatic and he was like ooh thats nice

I got mad at him for not being more excited
none the less I am very happy

What a cool story, those favors were meant to be I can't believe it, how funny the way things turn out !!!! YAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It still makes me happy reading it! LOL...today I am on a new quest...I am going to call that same woman and find out if I can get the 36 previously bought for the 50% off and save even more cash...not sure how it will go over, any tips?

Debbie, GREAT story. you see how things work out girls. and good thinking too!!!! I feel your pain with FH, they don't get excited over much do they? but thats what these boards are for! cause we can all relate.... and he was such a good egg, going around with you like that! credit where credit is due.. as for the other 36 you should definitely get the 50% off!! just tell the woman they were on sale.. they should all be sale price.

I am on hold with Mikasa Customer Service to find out right now if I can get the 50% off the other favors. I will let you guys know how it turns out!

She said that since we bought them within sixty days that we can go in and return them and then, re buy them for 50% off....now we just have to find the freaking receipts!

ARGH!!!!! I still can't find them....anything else in the world related to the wedding I have...every other receipt from that day I can find....this is making me sooooooooooo mad!!!

He found the receipts, he found the reciepts, he found them (Can you tell I am rather excited??!) Now we can save 200 bux...wooh oooooo happy dance heres your chance...the happy dance...LOL Yes I have been sipping the sauce!

That is so great. I definitely think that entitles you to get something else. You already saved some money. I do have a bit of a spending problem though so maybe you shouldn't listen to me.

I have the same problem...isn't it amazing how you can justify spending money. Darren was look good now we saved some money and I was like uh noo, I already have it spent in my mind...now I just don't feel guilty about it.
