A tad serious...but still controversial

Original post by btrflygrl

When I was on my home from my bachelorette party, one of the already married girls (with kids) mentioned that her husband buys her 'stuff' to smoke once in awhile, so I asked 'You still smoke??' and she said 'everyone does...'

Honestly....am I REALLY THAT straight-laced that I don't smoke (now or ever really did??)

Do people this far out of high school/college still smoke?? (DH one sister and her husband do too and she's 35)

Xel....

I agree with freedom of speech....I just have a personal history with an ex who did it....

and he did hit me...several times...and moved on to moer intense drugs....

but I don't mind that people do it....I just felt like a wierdo cuz I never really did and don't now.

Im sorry you are the first person who's ever in my whole life and lots of experiences has said that a person has been violent.

Mostly those who were were those who were already violent or those who were not JUST using that (I mean those average fun loving college kids wasting time)

But who am I to know everyone? I can't say that but I can say *I* haven't seen a violent one.

Sorry you met one.

X

I do not smoke 'stuff'... but I have friends 30+ who still do. I have a g/f who smokes DAILY. It's more of a habit for her now than it is a 'high'... I also know some 40+ people too. I personally think after a certain point, it just gets old... JMO

Sounds like my old roomie.
BAck when I was more often 'smoking' it was still only occasionally.

She got up every morning and smoked before she went to work, smoked on break, smoked at lunch, smoked at next break, smoked after work, smoked when she got home and smoked before she went out.. to smoke, then smoked when she got home.

I’ve NEVER seen anyone smoke that much before. She finally invited a guy friend over – A police officer and that was enough for me. OUT! That and I would come home from a long hard day at work to see her and her little friends in my living room smoking up. I worked graveyard back then so 2am is my evenings and 5am was bedtime.. Her and her friends would keep me up. I HATED it!

come to think of it, most of the people I know who smoke DO have kids...and generally range in age from 25-45, and range in careers from housewife to huge business owners. You never really know...

I never Smoked anything before. I am such a geek. Neither has my FH.

His brother in law does. You know whatever we went camping and he smoked we just left and went in our tent we figured we were camping not that big of a deal. He was with some friends who also where 'smoking'. All btw in their 30's. Well last month we were at FSIL and FBIL's house and he goes into the bathroom (its like 7 at night) comes out and SMELLED so bad. His kids (twin girls who are 12) went EWWW daddy you smell funny. I was so upset and annoyed and DISGUSTED. My FH is like in a couple of years they will know what that smell is. This is something he does like everynight. (besides the fact that it cost money and he doesn't work he is on permanant disability)

I have never smoked anything before(I'm 25) besides a cigarette when I was younger. I do know someone who is 40 though in my office and she still 'smokes'.

Of the people I know my age that still do smoke, I have to say that they are proof to me that it messes with your brain.

I used to, stopped like 10 years ago easy. My DH has never, ever, ever smoked at all. I have some younger friends who still smoke, but it seems that most people who still do are around 26 to 30.
